Overview

In this role, you will own and grow Citi’s European Systematic Spread Trading franchise, combining trading with quantitative insights. You will work closely with traders and quants to optimize pricing, risk management, and client interaction across single bond RFQs, ETFs, and basket strategies. You’ll refine the algo framework, monitor activity, and lead initiatives to scale the Custom Baskets business. This is a hands-on opportunity to influence risk controls, governance, and revenue in a collaborative, cross-functional setting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and tune the Algo framework understanding to adjust trading parameters based on market conditions and provide feedback to Quant team
  • Monitor Algo activity and engage with clients, sales, and desk traders to facilitate trades
  • Facilitate portfolio trades and communicate portfolio axes to clients; manage ETF creation and redemptions
  • Develop and promote the Custom Baskets business
  • Build and maintain a franchise by connecting with key clients aligned with desk strategy
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and build market-leading systems
  • Work with control functions (Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance)
  • Foster a culture of responsible finance, governance, and ethics; ensure registrations/licences are obtained as required

Key requirements

  • Not an entry level role; must have risk management experience and deep product/client knowledge
  • Experience in EUR/USD, Corporate/Government Bonds automated market making or related ETFs
  • Advanced coding, mathematical and data analytics skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for stakeholder management
  • Solid understanding of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocol, and closing technicalities
