The Citi Markets business operates globally from trading floors across ~80 countries, serving corporates, institutional investors, and governments. As the business continues its growth and expansion, Markets Technology plays a critical role in driving revenue generation by developing next-generation platforms to enhance capabilities across Sales & Trading, Risk management, E-trading, Transaction Processing, Data Analytics and AI.
The Global Head of Commodities Technology will be responsible for defining, driving, and executing the technology strategy and roadmap, encompassing direct ownership of applications that support a wide range of financing and physical trading activities related to global Commodity flows. This critical leadership role will leverage domain knowledge and modern engineering practices to drive operational efficiency and support core Commodities business objectives. You will partner with business leaders, leading your team to deliver consistent, scalable technology platforms to enable business growth and advance high engineering standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Strategic Technology Leadership: Partner with Commodities business leaders to define, champion, and execute the technology strategy and roadmap that directly enables business growth, market share expansion, and new product development. Influence and make critical investment decisions for the technology book of work.
- Platform Excellence & Resiliency: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of robust, scalable, and high-performance technology solutions. Ensure strong technical architecture alignment, platform quality, and resiliency to protect clients and the bank against operational risks.
- Technical Leadership & Modern Practices: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of robust, scalable solutions, essential for global Commodity flows. Ensure strong target-state architecture alignment, exceptional engineering, and superior resiliency to protect clients and the bank against operational risks.
- Global Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a large, globally distributed team of technologists. Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance. Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent to build a high performing technology organization.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Significant experience in Financial Services, including in a senior technology leadership role. Commodities experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated people leadership and budget management.
- Possesses an observable and impactful delivery track record, including the architecture, build, deployment, integration and ongoing management of large-scale technology ecosystems.
- Demonstrated skills in developing and executing strategies for transformation programs.
- Strong influencing skills and ability to work in an environment where priorities are frequently changing.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain trusted business partnerships and client relationships.
- Experience performing complex problem solving, analyzing client requirements and developing suitable solutions.
- Comprehensive understanding and awareness of appropriate corporate and regulatory policies.
