Team/Role Overview: Services provides global solutions that help corporations, financial institutions, public sector, and commercial clients optimize operations and drive their business forward. Through our five business lines – Liquidity Management Services, Payments, Trade & Working Capital Solutions, Investor Services, and Issuer Services - we provide cash management, payments/receivables solutions, working capital solutions, post-trade securities services, and issuer services across Citi’s global network.
The Head of Receivables Finance (UK, Europe & MEA) & Global Head of Credit Insured Accounts Receivable (CIAR) is a senior executive leadership role responsible for the end-to-end strategic direction, product performance, and full P&L ownership of the Receivables Finance product suite across the UK, Europe, and Middle East & Africa (MEA) regions. Additionally, this role holds global oversight and strategic mandate for the Credit Insured Accounts Receivable (CIAR) product line.
The incumbent will lead a high-performing, senior team of Senior employees across multiple geographies, driving product innovation, commercialization, risk management, and distribution. This role requires an action-oriented leader with deep transaction banking expertise, exceptional commercial acumen, and a proven track record of managing complex, multi-jurisdictional P&Ls and senior stakeholder relationships.
What you’ll do:
- Strategic Leadership & Product Innovation
- Regional Strategy: Define, shape, and implement the comprehensive product development roadmap and performance improvement strategies for Receivables Finance across the UK, Europe, and MEA, focusing on cross-sell, platform integration, and market expansion.
- Global CIAR Mandate: Provide global strategic direction for the Credit Insured Accounts Receivable (CIAR) product, driving global consistency, product line extensions, and competitiveness in the global market.
- Market Intelligence: Gather sophisticated market intelligence and develop advanced market-sizing studies to identify high-growth verticals, sector trends, and attractive market segments.
- Value Proposition: Represent customer needs at the highest level, translating market feedback into product features, digital functionalities, and a compelling global value proposition.
- P&L Ownership & Financial Performance
- P&L Management: Hold full, direct ownership of the Receivables Finance P&L for UK, Europe, and MEA, as well as global oversight of the CIAR P&L, ensuring revenue, margin, and expense targets are met or exceeded.
- Investment Decisions: Create robust, data-driven business cases to secure investment capital for technology, platform upgrades, and strategic product enhancements.
- Portfolio Optimization: Monitor key performance drivers, pricing strategies, and asset distribution channels to optimize capital allocation and return on assets (RoA).
- Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Senior Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a senior team of Senior product managers across the UK, Europe, and MEA, fostering a culture of high performance, urgency, and accountability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with regional and global sales leaders, relationship managers, credit risk, legal, operations, technology, and implementations to deliver seamless, client-centric solutions.
- Sales Enablement: Ensure sales and relationship management teams are thoroughly trained, equipped with sector-specific marketing materials, and positioned to identify and win complex receivables mandates.
- Client Engagement & Commercialization
- Senior Client Advisory: Act as the senior executive sponsor for key corporate clients, participating in high-level prospective meetings, structuring bespoke working capital solutions, and sizing new opportunities.
- Distribution & Syndication: Ensure products are optimally represented in distribution channels, driving growth initiatives in specific verticals (e.g., logistics, industrial, and e-commerce).
- Risk, Governance & Compliance
- Product Governance: Develop, enhance, and oversee the Product Approval Program (PAP) and related governance processes, ensuring all receivables and CIAR offerings adhere to global regulatory parameters and internal policies.
- Risk Assessment: Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
- Control & Compliance: Drive strict compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Apply sound ethical judgment regarding conduct and business practices, and proactively manage, escalate, and report control issues with complete transparency.
What we’ll need from you:
- Experience: Significant transaction banking experience, including several years of direct managerial experience leading senior professionals (SVP and Director levels) in a matrixed global environment.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Deep, comprehensive understanding of Receivables Finance (factoring, discounting, securitization) and Credit Insured Accounts Receivable (CIAR) structures, including credit insurance markets, policy underwriting, and risk distribution.
- Financial Acumen: Proven track record of full P&L ownership, financial planning, and strategic resource allocation within a major global financial institution.
- Executive Presence: Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with demonstrated confidence and credibility in delivering complex concepts to C-suite corporate clients and senior internal committees.
- Analytical & Critical Thinking: Advanced qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to think beyond existing solutions, challenge assumptions, and leverage data analytics to drive business innovation.
- Commercial Track Record: Proven success in bringing complex transaction banking products to market, managing end-to-end project lifecycles, and driving commercialization.
- Interpersonal & Influencing Skills: Outstanding interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence, build consensus, and drive results across diverse, cross-functional global teams.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline preferred.
