Overview
In this VP role, you will lead a CEEMEA EM credit trading book, acting as a primary market-maker across EM sovereigns, quasi-sovereigns, and corporates. You’ll generate ideas, manage risk, and deliver P&L from cash bonds, CDS, and structured credit instruments. You work closely with Sales, Research, Structuring, and Risk teams to expand Citi’s EM credit franchise. The position combines deep EM credit expertise with client-facing leadership on a meritocratic trading floor. Your impact spans risk control, liquidity provision, and franchise development in a high-growth, global context.

Responsibilities
- Own and manage a dedicated EM credit book across CEEMEA: cash bonds, CDS (single-name and index), and structured products
- Make two-way markets and price secondary liquidity for CEEMEA local currency bonds, sovereigns, and CDS for institutional clients
- Manage desk risk exposures and inventory, hedging Delta, DV01, basis risk, and cross-currency risk within limits
- Generate trading P&L by identifying relative value opportunities and cross-asset themes
- Collaborate with CEEMEA DCM and Syndicate on loans, market soundings, underwriting, and liquidity support
- Mentor and develop junior traders and analysts; drive enhancements in pricing analytics and electronic workflows
- Engage with Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Operations to maintain desk governance
- Participate in talent selection and internship program reviews
Key requirements
- Fixed income credit trading experience at a top-tier investment bank with CEEMEA sovereign and corporate credit focus
- Deep product mastery of CEEMEA cash Eurobonds, CDS (single-name and indices), SPV issued notes, Total Return Swaps, LMA loan docs, basis trading mechanics
- Proven P&L track record managing dedicated trading books with risk controls (CS01, inventory turnover, liquidity)
- Extensive knowledge of CEEMEA geopolitical and macro dynamics across CEEMEA regions
- Strong technical and analytical skills in Bloomberg (ALLQ, FIW, RUNS), electronic venues (Tradeweb, MarketAxess), Python, Excel/VBA
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline with strong collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities
