Team/Role Overview: The Reconciliation and Proofing Senior Analyst is a forward-looking, seasoned professional who sits at the intersection of financial controls and intelligent technology. In this role, you will not only ensure the integrity and compliance of balance sheet exception reporting but also actively drive the modernization of our reconciliation ecosystem. You will leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Automation Tools, and advanced analytics to automate manual workflows, predict exception trends, and build next-generation control frameworks.
What you’ll do:
- Balance Sheet Exception Reporting & Controls: Produce and maintain the Balance Sheet Exception Report (BSER) and associated management reporting. Execute critical controls to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies.
- Exception Management & Resolution: Monitor, investigate, and resolve reporting exceptions across the end-to-end process. Perform classification controls and validate results to maintain reporting integrity.
- Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze exception trends, volumes, and root causes. Develop and distribute high-quality management reports and dashboards to provide senior leadership with clear visibility into exposures and performance metrics.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams across Operations, Finance, Risk, Technology, and Business units to resolve complex issues and implement robust process improvements.
- Risk & Control Governance: Identify control deficiencies, escalate gaps to senior management, and implement appropriate procedures to mitigate risks and control losses. Maintain comprehensive documentation supporting controls and operating procedures.
- Continuous Improvement & Change Initiatives: Act as an analytical and procedural expert on "change-the-bank" projects. Identify opportunities to reduce expenses, optimize workflows, and implement advanced techniques.
- Leadership & Coaching: Assume informal and formal leadership roles within the team, including coaching, training, and mentoring new recruits.
What we’ll need from you:
- Advanced Analytics & Automation: Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, automation tools, and advanced analytics to improve reporting efficiency and support data-driven decisions.
- Experience: Extensive years of relevant experience in financial services, reconciliation, balance sheet proofing, or control operations.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Deep understanding of reconciliation workflows, financial products, and end-to-end operational control environments.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to filter, prioritize, and validate complex, dynamic data from multiple sources to solve proactive problems.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Communication & Influence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to persuade, influence, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, guide team members, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Project & Change Management: Proven track record of contributing to change initiatives, process optimization, or control enhancement projects.
