Join Citi's Global Business Expense Transparency organization as a Capital Markets Business/Data Analyst. You'll drive the development and enhancement of our Trade Cost Calculator and Analytics platform—a best-in-class system providing critical insights into trading costs and activities across global markets. This role demands a seasoned professional who can bridge business and technology, working directly with trading desks, business management, and senior stakeholders to deliver actionable analytics and drive platform evolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Development & Analytics
- Lead development initiatives for the VARCITI trade cost analytics platform
- Design and deliver robust trade and cost analytics, including volume profiling, product analysis, and expense trend identification
- Develop and refine reconciliation processes for trade expense analytics against third-party invoices
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Front Office, Middle Office, Operations, and Technology teams to understand dependencies and design effective metrics
- Engage trading desks and senior stakeholders to promote platform capabilities and gather enhancement requirements
- Own trading cost fee calculations and volume reconciliation processes across multiple products
- Requirements & Delivery
- Collaborate with technology teams throughout the software development lifecycle to translate business requirements into timely feature releases
- Analyze enhancement opportunities to increase transparency and accuracy in cost reporting
- Gather and document requirements for new metrics, reporting enhancements, and onboarding requests
What we’ll need from you
Experience & Knowledge
- Intermediate experience in commercial, fast-paced business environments with focus on technology or financial analysis
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of trade flow processes and systems preferred
- Knowledge of products traded across Fixed Income, Commodities, and Equities preferred
- Proven track record identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements in data/analytical workflows
Technical Skills
- Advanced SQL proficiency (required)
- Expertise in data visualization tools (QlikView, Tableau, or similar)
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
