Team/Role Overview

This pivotal role supports Spring by Citi, our payment acceptance solution. As a Commercial Product Manager, you'll develop and execute commercial strategies and product plans to drive market penetration, revenue growth, and competitive advantage. Working closely with global sales teams and Product Management, you'll ensure product offerings are optimized for commercial impact throughout their lifecycle. Your objective is to accelerate commercialization, expand market share, and solidify our competitive position across EU and UK clusters, while supporting global initiatives.

This Role is a "Controlled Function" Role as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010 and Principal Regulations 2011, and amending Regulations 2014, 2015.

What you'll do

  • Commercial Strategy & Sales Partnership: Collaborate with sales and cross-functional teams to drive successful product launches and commercialization, ensuring market readiness and sales enablement.
  • Go-to-Market Contribution: Support strategic roadmap development, go-to-market launches, and commercial marketing to maximize revenue and market adoption.
  • Client & Sales Engagement: Act as a commercial subject matter expert, partnering with sales to present solutions, articulate value propositions, and support deal closure.
  • Commercial Performance: Monitor core product performance, focusing on client acquisition, revenue growth, and optimizing client experience. Prioritize features driving commercial impact.
  • Pricing & Revenue Optimization: Develop and implement pricing strategies, analyze market dynamics, and optimize profitability. Support sales in commercial negotiations.
  • Partner Development: Cultivate commercial relationships with external partners and schemes to identify new market opportunities and expand channels.
  • Market Share & Positioning: Execute commercial strategies for value propositions, market positioning, segmentation, pricing, targeting, and channel partnerships to expand market share and achieve preferred partner status.
  • Regional & Global Strategy: Implement regional and global commercial strategies, coordinating with sales, product, and operations to penetrate new markets and expand relationships.
  • Market Intelligence & Innovation: Conduct commercial analysis of client needs and competitors to inform a market-driven product innovation roadmap, delivering advanced solutions.
  • Commercial Lifecycle Management: Manage aspects of the product commercial lifecycle, focusing on market demands, sales enablement, and competitive advantage.
  • Achieve Commercial Targets: Accountable for achieving client acquisition targets, driving financial performance, maximizing revenue, and optimizing commercial expenses. Identify and address market opportunities and gaps.
  • Go-to-Market Planning: Develop comprehensive go-to-market business plans, ensuring alignment with sales and client-facing teams to foster profitable client relationships.
  • Strategic Alliances Support: Support commercial innovation through strategic partnerships, developing new products, and managing relationships to maximize sales potential. Negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Risk Management: Assess commercial risks, safeguarding Citi's reputation by ensuring compliance with regulations, adhering to Policy, and applying sound ethical judgment.

What we'll need from you

  • Demonstrable commercial product management experience in finance (Payments or Card Acquiring preferred).
  • Proven commercial acumen: strong understanding of sales cycles, revenue drivers, market dynamics, and profitability.
  • Ability to partner with sales to drive product adoption, achieve revenue targets, and win business.
  • Experience in developing and executing go-to-market strategies, commercialization, and sales enablement.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, client-facing experience.
  • Broad functional experience in market analysis, business development, product commercialization, and sales support.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and adjust priorities quickly.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication, especially for commercial strategies and value propositions.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a commercial lens.
  • Team-oriented approach in a commercially focused environment.
  • Bachelor's degree/equivalent experience in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or related commercial discipline. Master's degree preferred.
