This Senior Vice President role sits within Citi's Cash Equities Execution team in London and is focused on the ownership, management, and strategic development of Citi's electronic execution product suite and platform infrastructure. The individual will serve as the connective tissue between trading, technology, quantitative research, and a sophisticated institutional client base — including asset managers, hedge funds, and quant funds — to drive the evolution of execution infrastructure and electronic trading products including Citi's Direct Market Access (DMA), algorithmic trading, and Smart Order Routing capabilities.
As Citi continues to invest in its EMEA execution franchise, this is a high-visibility role at the heart of that buildout.
Primary Responsibilities- Own and drive the product strategy and roadmap for Citi's cash equities electronic execution platform, ensuring alignment with business priorities and client demand.
- Partner with technology, quant research, and trading teams to coordinate production releases, manage go-live processes for new client solutions, and troubleshoot platform issues in co‑ordination with production management, network engineers, and application development groups.
- Oversee platform governance and regulatory compliance, ensuring all electronic trading products adhere to applicable obligations including MiFID II market access controls, and maintain a robust risk management and governance framework across the execution product suite.
- Produce and present in-depth analytics on product usage, client trading trends, execution performance, and revenue attribution, leveraging data‑driven insights to inform platform investment decisions and enhance client outcomes.
- Drive cross‑functional initiatives, acting as business lead for technology projects and coordinating across trading desks — including Programme Trading, High Touch, and Equity Derivatives — to support broader cash equities platform integration and client onboarding.
- Demonstrated experience in a product management, execution advisory, or platform management capacity within a cash equities trading environment at an investment bank or execution venue; typically 6–10 years of relevant front‑office or closely adjacent experience.
- Deep domain expertise in equities electronic execution, including hands‑on familiarity with DMA products, execution algorithms, Smart Order Routing, dark pool access, and exchange co‑location infrastructure across major EMEA venues.
- Strong technical proficiency, with practical experience using Q/kdb+ and Python for trade data analysis, product performance monitoring, and execution quality analytics; knowledge of FIX Protocol is advantageous.
- Thorough understanding of the EMEA regulatory landscape as it applies to electronic trading, specifically MiFID II requirements including algorithmic trading controls, market access risk management, and systematic internaliser frameworks.
- Proven stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both client‑facing and senior internal audiences, and to influence outcomes across a matrixed, global organisation.
- A quantitative undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline from a leading academic institution; CFA or equivalent professional qualification is advantageous but not essential.
