Job Background / Context

The FX Technology group builds and supports platforms powering Citi’s global Foreign Exchange business, one of the most complex, high‑volume, and latency‑sensitive trading environments in the industry.

These platforms support pricing, execution, trade processing, risk management, post‑trade workflows, and client connectivity.

The Business Analyst will work within an Agile feature team to enable rapid, high‑quality delivery aligning business needs with technology solutions.

The role

This senior role provides the opportunity to lead mission‑critical FX trading platform development, gain extensive exposure to global trading systems, collaborate with executive stakeholders, and build expertise in strategic AI‑driven Agile delivery, digital transformation, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving and coordinating overall technology delivery for one or multiple projects or programs
  • Project management drawing on multiple methodologies as appropriate— including scoping initiatives, creating plans in Excel or Jira, managing progress of delivery
  • Create and maintain a RAID log, raising risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, and then driving them to resolution or escalating where support is needed
  • Input into the central Program team governance processes and best practices ensuring high standard Project and Program management
  • Ability to lead and inspire delivery teams, often through matrix management of individuals from multiple different teams and functions
  • Chair meetings with application developers and with stakeholders, ranging from daily scrums to weekly updates to ad‑hoc technical workshops
  • Take and circulate meeting minutes – including tracking attendees, key discussion points and action logs
  • Stakeholder management of both technology and business stakeholders up to executive level, including hosting and preparing Steering Committees, managing escalations, and managing multi‑year delivery roadmaps
  • Work with business teams to maintain the backlog and assess priorities on a frequent basis
  • Create presentations, including for Operating Committees and Steering Committees
  • Hosting of Steering and Operating Committees if / where applicable and presenting in other forums
  • Input into the central Program Delivery team governance processes and best practices; ensuring high standard Project and Program delivery and enabling central standardisation across the department

Knowledge / Experience

  • Deep and comprehensive expertise in FX or Capital Markets domain, including regulatory aspects, market structures, and evolving industry trends.
  • Expert‑level understanding of end‑to‑end trade lifecycle, market conventions, and its interdependencies across various systems.
  • Extensive experience in leading Agile/Scrum teams or initiatives, demonstrating strong leadership and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leading feature teams and driving significant product enhancements and strategic transformations.

Experience:

  • Keen interest and curiosity in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Generative AI technologies, with an eagerness to explore their application in financial services.
  • Proactive in identifying and learning about emerging AI trends and their potential to drive innovation and efficiency within the FX business.
  • A strong desire to contribute to the development and integration of intelligent agent‑based solutions for optimizing trading and risk management workflows.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and complex problem‑solving abilities, capable of tackling multi‑faceted business challenges.
  • Superior communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders across diverse functions and geographies.
  • Advanced understanding of data architecture, sophisticated data analysis techniques, and complex troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Expertise in managing multiple concurrent strategic priorities and complex programs/projects, demonstrating strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strategic stakeholder management and advanced conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership, innovation, and proactive drive for results, with a strong commitment to excellence.
