By joining Citi, you will become part of a global organisation whose mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.
Team/Role Overview
Citi's Fund Services business is in the midst of a generational transformation — moving from fragmented, manual operating models to an AI-native platform that will define how fund services are delivered globally. We are building the next generation of capabilities powered by Artificial Intelligence, and we need an exceptional product leader to help us get there faster. This is a unique opportunity to sit at the center of that transformation — working across the Fund Services Transformation team to bring AI capabilities from concept to production, at pace, in one of the most complex and consequential domains in financial services.
We are looking for a hands-on, technically fluent Product Manager who can move with equal confidence between a business stakeholder describing an operational problem and an engineering team designing the solution. This is not a traditional product management role — it sits at the intersection of product, technology, and operational transformation, working in small, agile teams to take AI use cases from rapid prototype to industrial-grade production capability. You will not only define the 'what' — you will drive and engage in the 'how'. You will partner with the Transformation team and our broader AI program to deliver capabilities that directly improve how Citi services its clients across the full Fund Services lifecycle — and build a platform that others cannot easily replicate.
What you’ll do
- Drive the Fund Services AI Agenda: Identify and prioritize strategic opportunities for AI across the full Fund Services lifecycle — spanning client onboarding and fund setup, fund accounting and NAV production, ETF operations, middle office, transfer agency, corporate actions, trustee and fiduciary services, and client reporting. Operate with a commercial mindset, assessing ROI and business impact to sequence the most valuable use cases against available investment.
- Rapid Prototyping and Discovery: Lead intensive discovery phases with Fund Services operations, product, and engineering teams to uncover problems, define use cases, and co-create working prototypes rapidly. Facilitate design sprints and workshops that compress the time from problem identification to something real that a business stakeholder can evaluate and respond to.
- Deep Technical Leadership: Bring sufficient engineering depth to guide technical design decisions — understanding the underlying AI models, data pipelines, deployment architectures, and integration patterns required to deliver AI solutions in a regulated financial environment. Work alongside engineers and architects on AI model selection, scalable infrastructure, and the path from prototype to production.
- Industrialize and Scale: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI solutions — from initial prototype through to enterprise-grade production. Define clear paths to production that meet Citi's requirements for security, compliance, reliability, and maintainability. Maximise the value of Citi's existing technology investments — spanning core Fund Services platforms, accounting engines, enterprise data infrastructure, operational tooling, and the full suite of approved AI platforms and capabilities available across the organization.
- Partner with the Transformation Team: Work closely with the Transformation team — operating as the bridge between the AI program and the broader transformation agenda. Ensure AI capabilities are embedded into transformation workstreams rather than delivered as isolated point solutions, and that every AI investment compounds the value of the platform being built.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Communicate product roadmaps, progress, and impact clearly to senior leadership, Fund Services business stakeholders, and engineering teams. Navigate trade-offs with transparency and build confidence in both the plan and the pace of delivery.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: Maintain a current and deep understanding of the evolving Generative AI and Agentic AI landscape — frontier models, AI patterns, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG architectures, and multi-agent orchestration. Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions specific to Fund Services operations and clients.
Fund Services is building next-generation AI capabilities that fundamentally change how our operations teams work and how our clients experience our service — across the full lifecycle from client onboarding and fund setup through ETF servicing, fund accounting, middle office, transfer agency, corporate actions, trustee and fiduciary services, and client reporting. This is not incremental automation of today's manual processes — it is a step-change in what is possible.
Intelligent Document Processing: Transforming how Fund Services ingests, interprets, and acts on unstructured data — across private asset documents, investor instructions, regulatory filings, vendor invoices, corporate action notifications, and client communications — creating straight-through processing across every domain where today there is manual effort at every step.
Smart and Proactive Controls: Moving from reactive error correction to proactive intelligence — embedding AI-powered anomaly detection, predictive oversight, and intelligent exception management across the full Fund Services operating model. Issues are identified and resolved before they reach clients, not after. Faster resolution times, stronger controls, and greater confidence in the quality of every output we produce.
Agentic AI — Augmenting the Expertise of Our People: Building a digital workforce of specialized AI agents that work alongside our operations teams — taking on complex, multi-step tasks autonomously across fund accounting, ETF operations, middle office, and transfer agency; providing real-time decision support; and extending the expertise of our people across the full breadth of what Fund Services does. The goal is not to replace our teams but to make them materially more capable and to create the capacity to absorb growth without proportional headcount increase.
Client Experience and Engagement: Creating AI-powered capabilities that clients can feel — faster fund onboarding, more proactive and transparent client reporting, real-time status visibility, and richer insights that strengthen the confidence clients place in Citi as their fund services partner across every asset class and structure we service.
Next-Generation Platform Intelligence: Building the AI foundations that make every future capability more powerful — predictive analytics, enterprise knowledge management, continuous learning models, and the intelligent infrastructure that underpins a truly AI-native Fund Services platform that compounds in value over time.
What we’ll need from you
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Relevant experience across product development and engineering, with significant focus on AI/ML-driven products and heavy recent exposure to Generative AI.
- Demonstrated ability to design, build, and scale complex software systems — including cloud architectures, distributed systems, and modern software development practices.
- Deep understanding of the Generative AI ecosystem — frontier models, AI patterns, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, and agentic architectures.
- Proven ability to move from problem identification to working prototype at pace — with a portfolio of real things built, not just planned.
- Experience working in agile, small-team product development environments where the PM is a builder as well as a strategist.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — able to influence across business, technology, and senior leadership.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience within fund services, fund administration, ETF operations, asset management, or broader capital markets — domain knowledge across the full fund services lifecycle materially accelerates time-to-value in this role.
- Familiarity with regulated AI deployment — understanding of governance, control, and compliance requirements for AI solutions in a financial services context.
- Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise operational platforms, accounting engines, and data infrastructure at scale.
- Quantitative Skills — experience applying statistical modelling, data science, or quantitative analysis to financial or operational problems and to determine true impact of capabilities.
What we can offer you
- You will work on real problems that affect fund services operations globally — not hypothetical use cases or proof-of-concepts that never reach production.
- You will have the mandate and the access to build things that matter — with a portfolio of active AI investments, enterprise platforms, and a transformation team behind you.
- You will sit at the center of a significant transformation programme within Fund Services — building the platform that defines what AI-native fund servicing looks like.
- The impact of what you build will be visible — in processing efficiency, in onboarding speed, in operational capacity, and in how clients experience Citi across every service line.
- You will work with a team that is building something genuinely differentiated — not catching up to the market, but setting the standard for it.
