We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Equities Sales professional to join our team in London at the Director level. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a successful global franchise and play a significant role in driving revenue and deepening relationships with our institutional client base. You will be responsible for marketing Citi's full range of equity products and services, leveraging the power of our global platform to provide best‑in‑class solutions and insights to your clients. Primary Responsibilities of the role:
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with a dedicated portfolio of institutional clients, including asset managers and hedge funds, serving as their primary point of contact for all equity‑related needs.
  • Actively market and execute trades across Citi's comprehensive suite of equity products, including cash equities, equity derivatives, and swaps.
  • Deliver valuable market insights, actionable trade ideas, and relevant research commentary to clients to support their investment strategies and decision‑making processes.
  • Collaborate closely with trading, research, derivatives, delta one and structuring, as well as other internal partners to ensure a coordinated and seamless delivery of the firm's capabilities to clients.
  • Drive revenue growth and meet performance targets by identifying new business opportunities and expanding the wallet share of existing client accounts.
  • Ensure all sales and trading activities are conducted in strict adherence to regulatory standards and internal compliance policies.
What we need from you:
  • Significant experience in an Equities Sales role within a tier‑one investment bank, with a proven track record of achieving revenue targets.
  • In‑depth knowledge of equity products and financial markets, with a strong understanding of both cash and derivative instruments.
  • A thorough understanding of the equities Technology sector both in Europe and globally.
  • A pre‑existing network of transferable relationships with institutional clients based in the UK and/or Europe.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • A strategic and analytical approach to sales, with the ability to understand client needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline such as Finance, Economics, or Business.

Certification and Regulatory Requirements:

Candidates applying for this role must be aware that it is a Certified Role, subject to the FCA and PRA Certification Regime. The Certification Regime is one element of the Individual Accountability Regime which came into effect on 7 March 2016. Under the Certification Regime, Citi UK regulated entities (Citi entities) must ensure that employees working in certain roles categorised as specified significant harm functions (Certified Roles) are assessed as fit and proper to carry out their role. Under the guidance provided by the FCA and PRA, firms should have regard to the following when assessing fitness and propriety:

  • Competence and capability

In order to comply with the requirements of the Certification Regime, Citi entities must take reasonable care to ensure that an employee does not perform a Certified Role without first being certified as Fit and Proper. For this reason, you will be assessed for this role against the Fit and Proper requirements, as described above. This assessment will be carried out through extensive interviews, self‑disclosures, permitted criminal record checks, regulated reference checks, credit checks and other background screening checks.
