The Corporate Banking Senior Analyst in UK Industrials will focus on Metals & Mining (M&M) clients with limited exposure to Shipping & Aviation. As an intermediate level professional, you will provide bespoke capital structure expertise and corporate finance advice, working closely with senior bankers to originate, execute, and manage episodic and strategic financing transactions.
Role Focus
- Deliver market leading industry content and champion Corporate Finance initiatives within the M&M industry.
- Become an expert in the M&M space, working across Citi’s product partners including Capital Markets, Markets, Treasury & Trade Solutions, and Corporate Finance / Lending.
- Provide analytical support, risk assessment and monitoring of existing and new relationships in the Industrials portfolio.
- Build strong client relationships and be viewed by clients as a sector specialist, engaging directly with CFO and Treasury level stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior bankers to provide overall relationship management and industry expertise.
- Member of deal team for the origination and execution of episodic and Corporate Finance transactions globally.
- Stay abreast of market and industry trends, best practices and competitive landscape.
- Risk assessment and credit analysis of existing relationships, including periodic review of financial results, statements and peer analysis.
- Develop client pitch materials tailored to meet client needs and lead execution of episodic transactions.
- Assist with day‑to‑day cash management activities, trading initiatives, foreign exchange, loan activity, debt and equity capital markets.
- Evaluate public filings, research reports, operations, business plans and financial forecasts to produce strategic and financial analyses.
- Develop an in‑depth understanding of the business dynamics, client priorities and strong internal relationships with key product, risk and regional partners.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong experience working in a corporate bank, financing or a capital markets / investment banking role.
- Prior experience in the Metals & Mining industry.
- Corporate Finance mindset with strong understanding of capital structure drivers.
- Strong credit skills and experience executing episodic transactions.
- Quantitative, accounting and financial modelling skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, notably Excel and PowerPoint.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience; MBA or Master’s Degree in Business preferred.
