Citi is looking for a placement analyst to join the Equity Capital Markets (ECM) team in London, from June 2026. The ECM business works with our corporate, private equity and government clients, providing advisory services on a wide range of activities including Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), Accelerated Equity Offerings (AEOs), Rights Issues, and other types of capital-raising projects. Our bankers work closely with our other business units to ensure client access to the full range of products and expertise within the organisation.
The 6-month program starts in June 2026. Successful Placement Analysts will be considered for a full-time position after graduation. The role will be based at 33 Canada Square Canary Wharf - London, E14 5LB, United Kingdom. This role currently offers a hybrid working model, with a mandatory three days in your assigned office, and an optional two days from home. Citi supports this business model, subject to business approval.
Responsibilities- Developing pitchbooks and executing ECM mandates for Citi clients, interacting with clients and various levels of management.
- Managing the transaction process, working with senior bankers and management on transaction terms.
- Analysing financial data and understanding financial models including stand-alone company valuations, discounted cash flow analysis, financing, comparative and pro-forma analyses.
- Developing a regular dialogue with Citi's sales force globally and understanding the investor base.
- You are in your penultimate year of university.
- Expected to achieve or have achieved a 2:1 (or equivalent) at undergraduate level in any degree discipline.
- You are available to start in June 2026.
- Desire to develop a deep understanding of the financial industry.
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills, assimilating new information quickly and relating it to the needs of the client base.
- Ability to work efficiently within a team environment and as an individual contributor, managing own workload within tight deadlines.
