The Prime Finance support group provides technical and business support for Citi’s Prime Finance Application stack, encompassing Prime brokerage and Securities Lending business streams. The applications are business critical, providing trade capture and maintenance for Trading, Sales, Middle Office and Operations. We are searching for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who will drive front line support functions as part of the Prime Finance Support team. We work in partnership with the business running the production platform, providing quick resolutions to their issues, drive stability, efficiency and effective improvements to help us and the business succeed.

The role will entail working closely with business partners, developing application knowledge, driving and tracking projects around stability and service improvement, incident resolution and follow‑up activities and providing strategic technical solutions. You will develop detailed knowledge of the Prime Business. You will be working closely with your counterparts in India, UK, Hong Kong, US and Canada operating in a follow‑the‑sun global model, along with application developers and business analysts in the team.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with multiple technology teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals; identify and define necessary system enhancements; analyse existing system logic, identify problems; and recommend and implement solutions.
  • Provides expertise in area and an advanced level of understanding in apps support.
  • Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives for complex, high impact application enhancements and problem resolution through in-depth analysis and evaluation of complex business processes, systems and industry standards, documents requirements.
  • Works closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts and Systems Analysts to determine and document Systems impacts and support requirements.
  • Considers the implications of the application of technology to the current environment.
  • Identifies risks, vulnerabilities and security issues; communicates impact; proposes risk mitigation options.
  • Acts as advisor or coach to new or junior analysts; allocates work.
  • Provides in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Directly impacts the business by influencing strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel or provided services.
  • Persuades and influences others through strong and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills.
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications
  • Significant experience in a similar Technology role.
  • Hands On problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal skills and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience working or leading requirement gathering efforts for multiple large development projects at one time.
  • Advanced execution capabilities and ability to adjust quickly to changes and re‑prioritisation.
  • Effective written and verbal communications including ability to explain technical issues in simple terms that non‑IT staff can understand.
  • Proficient using technical tools and system (like – Grafana, Kibana, Splunk etc).
  • Advanced experience with Unix/Linux operating systems, complex SQL queries, and financial messaging technologies (e.g., Solace, MQ, Kafka).
  • Databases - Sybase, Microsoft SQL (Oracle/DB2 a plus) and Mongo.
  • Experience in trading and Middle office functions a bonus but not essential.
  • Monitoring and Automation Tools: Advance-level proficiency with batch scheduling tools (e.g., Autosys) and enterprise monitoring systems (e.g., ITRS Geneos).
Nice to have
  • Technical Expertise: Act as the primary subject matter expert for Prime Brokerage / Securities Lending application functionalities, architecture, and interdependencies.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Assurance: Understanding of external regulatory mandates (e.g., SFTR, Dodd-Frank).
  • Domain Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the trade lifecycle, including trade booking, collateral management, and settlement cycles.

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred.
