The role of technologists is evolving rapidly in today's dynamic market. The Engineering Excellence (EE) department within the Chief Technology Office aims to support the firm's goal of thriving as one team on a common mission through attracting, retaining, and driving the growth of top technology talent within a culture where innovation and excellence are not just encouraged, but expected.
The scope of Engineering Excellence is vast, with programs and products at various stages of maturity. Efforts are concentrated in three key areas:
- Empowering engineers to advance a technical career
- Boosting engineer productivity

The EE Project Manager & Coach contributes to the delivery of several key projects and programs, including coaching, driving operational excellence, executing project plans and ensuring delivery exceeds stakeholder expectations. This includes influencing and leading teams of engineers and internal stakeholders to drive lasting behaviour change and to promote a culture of excellence in the engineering community globally.
Major elements of the role include:
- Lead project management associated with a set of high-profile complex enterprise-wide engineering projects defined and executed by our highly talented engineering leaders
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports
- Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining EE standards
- Facilitate & lead workshops & coaching sessions to enable technical excellence across all workstreams
- Design & deliver EE coaching & drive tech strategy throughout the project lifecycle towards continuous improvement and technical excellence
- Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end results
- Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
- Facilitate alumni networks, build and maintain relationships with external professionals & industry groups
- Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draw on a diverse range of internal and external sources
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead role in high impact engineering excellence project delivery, including EE coaching
- Design & deliver engaging EE project coaching material that strengthens strategic thinking
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation to ensure alignment and support for EE initiatives
- Promote and uphold a culture of engineering excellence across all workstreams
- Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of how project leadership integrates within the overall technology function to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry

- Demonstrated passion for supporting technical career development of others
- Good knowledge of the software development process
