Overview

Citi Banking is looking for Summer Analysts to join our 10-week program starting on June 2026 in the Commercial Banking team in London. Upon successfully completing the Summer Internship program, Summer analysts will be offered a Full-Time Analyst role for Summer 2027. Commercial Bankers are relationship-focused professionals who understand the wide range of complex financial solutions required by our clients around the world. The Summer Analyst will work directly with Relationship Managers and Analysts on a portfolio of clients and interface with various Citi teams across the firm and around the world including credit underwriting, cash management, loans, FX, derivatives, capital markets and investment banking. The Summer Analyst is a critical team member supporting Relationship Managers with managing the existing portfolio and generating new business.

Responsibilities

  • Induction followed by placement with the Commercial Banking team for the duration of the 10-week program.
  • Support in Credit Approvals (for new-to-bank and existing clients) and analysis of financial data using financial models (company valuations, discounted cash flow, financing, comparative, and pro-forma analyses).
  • Collect and analyze company information to assist transactions, including industry research and organizing financial data.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to determine credit and cash management products; create pitch books, prospect memos and client decks.
  • Manage existing base of key client relationships for transaction-level support; resolve client instructions/deficiencies and coordinate trainings (e.g., CitiDirect, FX Pulse) with Citi partners.
  • Assist with customer due diligence / KYC for new-to-bank and existing clients; handle onboarding documentation and initiate CRM workflow for account opening and TTS products for assigned customers.
  • Coordinate tasks with internal and external teams; support Relationship Managers with ad-hoc inquiries and internal documentation (control and compliance).

Qualifications

  • On track to achieve a 2:1 (or equivalent) at undergraduate level in any degree.
  • Interest in business; fluency in a second language is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong organizational skills, self-motivation, initiative and leadership potential.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills; professional and ethical conduct.
  • Innovative and creative problem-solving ability; intellectual curiosity; ability to deliver for meetings with high-profile clients and executives.
