Cape Preston Port Company (CPPC) is seeking experienced Marine Designated Person Ashore to join our Port Operations team. This position is a permanent fulltime role based in our Perth head office on St Georges Terrace.

Reporting to the Manager – Technical Shipping, the initial 18 months will be heavily focused on document review of the safety management system. Following this, the role is responsible for:

  • Oversight of the compliance and review of the Companies Safety Management Systems and ensure compliance with Australian and International Regulatory Codes and rules.
  • Undertaking of Designated Person Ashore Role for the Companies ISM / DOC Systems.
  • Undertaking of Company Security Officer Role for the Marine Fleet.
  • Undertaking Internal audits.

Successful applicant will have:

  • Master Class 1 certificate or Engineer Class 1 certificate.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the marine industry with sea going experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' as in a senior shore-based role.
  • Designated Person Ashore Qualification.
  • Ship Security Officer Qualification.
  • A current WA C Class (manual) Drivers Licence.
  • Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
  • Internal Audit Qualification.
