In addition, while the team is focused on covering UK and Irish clients, we often collaborate with other teams across Citi’s global network, given the global nature of our client base. The VP Salesperson would be a public side salesperson helping to cover FIG clients.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide lead or support coverage of our FIG clients, to originate strategic transactions for Citi.
  • Work closely with product structuring teams to structure solutions to address key client issues as well as Citi’s own challenges and constraints.

  • Drive revenue growth and increased wallet share with the UK & Ireland FIG client base.
  • Be responsible for all on-boarding and KYC workstreams related to our clients.
  • Contribute to and drive new client or product initiatives.
  • Ensure there is a strong focus on risk and controls in all parts of the business, and work closely with 1st and 2nd line risk teams, and other support functions.

What we’ll need from you:

  • Knowledge and experience executing transactions across multiple asset classes, e.g. Rates, Credit, Equities, Commodities etc.
  • Proven interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and to be a real team player!
  • Self-motivated, pro-active and creative in how they respond to client’s needs.
  • A good understanding of the regulatory landscape for banks and insurance companies, in particular the Basel regulatory framework and Solvency II.

Candidates applying for this role must be aware that it is a Certified Role, subject to the FCA and PRA Certification Regime. The Certification Regime is one element of the Individual Accountability Regime which came into effect on 7 March 2016. Under the Certification Regime, Citi UK regulated entities (Citi entities) must ensure that employees working in certain roles categorised as specified significant harm functions (Certified Roles) are assessed as fit and proper to carry out their role. Under the guidance provided by the FCA and PRA, firms should have regard to the following when assessing fitness and propriety:

  • Honesty, integrity and reputation.
  • Financial soundness.
  • Competence and capability.

In order to comply with the requirements of the Certification Regime, Citi entities must take reasonable care to ensure that an employee does not perform a Certified Role without first being certified as Fit and Proper. For this reason, you will be assessed for this role against the Fit and Proper requirements, as described above. This assessment will be carried out through extensive interviews, self-disclosures, permitted criminal record checks, regulated reference checks, credit checks and other background screening checks.
