We are seeking a VP or Director level Softs and Agricultural Commodities Trader on the Commodity Derivatives Desk, reporting to the Head of Agriculture Trading in London.
Responsibilities
- Provide pricing and market-making services to the global client franchise.
- Manage risk across a Softs and Agricultural derivatives trading portfolio.
- Provide market intelligence and insights to the global trading team.
- Demonstrate a proven track record in agricultural commodities trading while operating within established risk parameters.
- Relevant experience within the Dairy sector is preferred.
- Build and maintain a strong franchise and develop relationships with key clients.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Research, Commodities Management (CM), and other teams across Markets, Securities Services, and the broader organization.
- Deliver budgeted revenue targets within the defined risk framework.
- Work in close partnership with control functions, including Legal, Compliance, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance, to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
- Promote a culture of responsible finance, strong governance, effective supervision, expense discipline, and ethical conduct.
- Assess the risk/reward profile of transactions when making business decisions, demonstrating appropriate consideration for the firm's reputation.
- Be familiar with and adhere to Citi's Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services.
- Obtain and maintain all registrations and licenses required for the role within the appropriate timeframes.
Qualifications
- Strong derivatives pricing and trading expertise is essential.
- Undergraduate degree required.
- 5-10 years of experience trading softs and/or agricultural commodities.
- Experience in the dairy sector is preferred, although candidates with relevant experience in other agricultural markets will also be considered.
- Advanced analytical and numerical skills.
- Advanced financial market spreadsheet skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Bloomberg, trade capture and booking systems, trading protocols, and trade lifecycle processes.

- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
