About FX Tech
Citi FX has a physical presence in 83 countries with 1,400 dedicated staff giving us the largest FX presence of any bank globally. Foreign Exchange has been one of the defining businesses of Citi for much of its 200 year existence. Increasing investment in technology has seen us roll out award winning applications. Role Overview/What will you do:
- Be a senior member in a delivery-focused engineering team
- Work as a hands-on contributor towards technical deliveries on critical component(s) and services supporting the FX business
- Operate independently with a limited level of direct supervision
- Act as an SME for stakeholders and/or other team members including acting as a role model/mentor for more junior members in the team
- Drive the design and development of key elements of our system architecture, work with end-users of the systems, and take full ownership of deliverables
- Contribute to a culture of continuous change and improvement through challenge, engagement and delivery
- The role does not involve line management
Key Skills and Experience required
- Extensive experience in hands-on software development in Java and related frameworks (Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot)
- Exposure to Angular, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and WPF for front-end development desirable
- Experience designing and developing distributed systems (microservices, event-driven architectures, messaging)
- Understanding of computer science fundamentals – concurrency, algorithms and operating systems
- Ability to work directly with business partners and other stakeholders
- Highly credible hands-on engineer, confident to deep dive into a product and codebase and offer detailed, constructive analysis and feedback
- Understanding of FX desirable but not necessary.
Education:
- University degree or equivalent experience operating in a similar role
