As a Synthetic Prime Trader, you will be an integral part of our Equities team, contributing directly to the strategic growth and operational excellence of our Synthetic Prime Brokerage (SPB) platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage trading books, optimize processes, and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring robust risk management and efficient client service within a leading global financial institution.
Primary Responsibilities of the role:- Risk manage Synthetic Prime Brokerage trading books, including responsibility for risk mitigation, hedging, P&L, reconciliation, and accurate reporting.
- Drive process reengineering and streamlining initiatives, maintaining a robust framework of key risks and controls.
- Collaborate with Prime Sales Trading teams to effectively apply pricing and rerates to client swap positions.
- Partner with Technology teams to enhance systems, improving trading flow efficiency, operational processes, and controls, while eliminating manual touch points.
- Analyze market trends and client needs to identify new trading opportunities and optimize existing strategies within the Synthetic Prime platform.
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies related to trading activities and risk management.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a numerical (STEM) subject or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a proven track record in financial markets.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and VBA.
- Demonstrated experience in trading book management, risk mitigation, and P&L attribution, preferably within a Prime Brokerage or Equities context.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of financial products, market structures, and regulatory landscape, particularly within equity derivatives or synthetic products.
