The Securities & Derivatives Sr Manager is a role within Citi's Complex Assets department. Citi provides comprehensive solutions designed to empower our clients' fund managers in navigating and optimizing their investments. Our core offerings encompass robust trade lifecycle management, bespoke reporting, rich data provision, and real-time operational support, ensuring our clients achieve their strategic objectives in a dynamic global market.

As a vital part of the broader Security Services Operations group, the Complex Assets department is at the forefront of post-trade services for sophisticated OTC derivatives securities. Our team plays a critical role in managing the intricacies of these instruments, from trade affirmation and confirmation to cash-flow settlement, independent valuations, lifecycle management, and reconciliations.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to a sizable and impactful book of work, engaging in continuous iterative exploration and analysis that shapes the future of our services.

Responsibilities:
  • Driving Operating Model Evolution: Lead the development and enhancement of our OTC derivatives operating model across our Middle Office and Fund Accounting businesses, setting new industry standards.
  • Innovating with Technology: Collaborate closely with our technology partners to design and implement applications that optimally support a diverse and expanding range of asset classes.
  • Empowering Client Success: Work hand-in-hand with sales and implementation teams to meticulously identify client requirements, ensuring successful onboarding and fostering strong client relationships.
  • Solving Complex Challenges: Tackle intricate inquiries, conduct in-depth discovery, and execute thorough due diligence for bespoke client requests, demonstrating your expertise and problem-solving prowess.
  • Providing Expert Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert in OTC Derivatives, leading and engaging with project teams to drive key initiatives.
  • Optimizing Performance: Proactively identify opportunities to optimize existing processes, significantly minimizing exceptions and reducing manual interventions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with OTC derivatives.
  • Comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of OTC Derivatives theory and its practical application across all asset classes.
  • Proven working knowledge of Calypso Technology or a comparable industry-leading application.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively employ sophisticated analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Advanced computer skills are essential, including mastery of MS applications (Excel, VBA, Word, PowerPoint). Proficiency in other computer programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, SQL) is highly desirable.
  • A logical and structured approach to problem-solving and task management.
  • Significant experience in client delivery and operations, demonstrating a strong client-centric mindset.
Education:
  • A third-level qualification (Bachelor’s degree minimum, Master’s preferred) in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, or Economics.
