Team/Role Overview

This is an entry-to-early career role. This role is suited for individuals looking to build a career in data analytics and process improvement within a Capital Markets Operations environment. Working closely with, and under the direct guidance of, more senior Product Development colleagues (VP and above), you will support day-to-day data-gathering, basic analysis, and documentation tasks that feed into the wider OTC Settlements and Payments transformation agenda. This role is designed to build foundational skills, with structured mentoring and clear progression opportunities.

What you will do:

  • Begin building foundational knowledge of Citi's OTC derivative products and Payments flows & operations platforms, with close supervision and support from senior colleagues.
  • Assist senior team members in reviewing operational processes, including gathering data, taking notes, and helping document current-state process steps.
  • Support basic analysis of settlement and payment data (e.g., extracting, organizing, and checking data) to help senior colleagues identify process inefficiencies or control gaps.
  • Help prepare supporting materials (e.g., slides, data summaries) for business cases and investment proposals, under direction from senior Business Analysts.
  • Assist in documenting business requirements, working under close guidance to ensure quality and completeness before senior review.
  • Support the team in building simple KPI trackers, process maps, and dashboard inputs, learning relevant tools and techniques along the way.
  • Gain first exposure to AI, low-code automation, and generative AI tools by assisting on small, well-defined tasks and observing how they are applied.
  • Support coordination with stakeholders across Operations, Technology, and Product teams (e.g., scheduling, note-taking, follow-up tracking) as part of project delivery.
  • Help maintain accurate status trackers and flag issues or risks to senior team members in a timely manner.
  • Appropriately assess risk in day-to-day work, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by complying with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating any concerns transparently to senior colleagues.

What we will need from you:

  • Previous relevant experience, ideally including some exposure to data analysis, process documentation, or operations within Financial Services (internships and graduate program experience are welcomed).
  • Basic awareness or interest in Global Markets Operations; specific exposure to Derivatives, Payments, or Capital Settlements is a plus but not required.
  • Some experience supporting projects or process improvement activities in a junior or assisting capacity.
  • Willingness to learn how to work alongside Technology teams to help translate business needs into simple requirements, with guidance.
  • An interest in practical AI tools (e.g., CoPilot) is a plus; no prior hands-on experience required.
  • General awareness of low-code or automation concepts is helpful but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail, a proactive and eager-to-learn attitude, good written and verbal communication skills, and a genuine interest in developing a long-term career as a Business Analyst.
  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree in related field.
