We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join Developer Enablement in our CTO organisation. This role blends product and UX expertise - you will manage stakeholders, shape roadmaps, and translate business vision into wireframes and polished designs. Working alongside our Developer Enablement team, you will help build and mature our product and UX capabilities across the group.
Where you’ll work
You will begin with Release on Demand, our platform that enables engineering teams to deploy code to production frequently while maintaining compliance in a highly regulated environment. This 3-year-old platform serves thousands of engineers bank-wide and is projected to deliver £50 million in savings this year alone. Your work will help it scale further and unlock new opportunities for developer productivity.
Over time, your scope will expand in Developer Enablement, and you will connect with our broader product/UX function. Developer Enablement focuses on innovation, developer platforms, and internal tools used across the bank, where we experiment and ship fast, like a startup inside a global bank. Our mission is to save our engineers tens of minutes per day, equating to £10,000,000s of savings at Citi’s scale.
What you will bring
- Strong UX/UI design skills: Expertise in the entire design process from research and wireframing to high-fidelity prototyping and interaction design. Proficient in Figma.
- Strong product skills, which naturally overlap with the UX skills, including stakeholder management, defining roadmaps, through to turning business vision into wireframes.
- A strategic, systems-thinking mindset: You are skilled in getting a deep understanding of complicated technical concepts, with the help of a Business Analyst, to create compelling solutions.
- Ability to get along and influence across a variety of stakeholders.
Tools you’ll use
- Figma, and our internal design systems.
- Mac or PC - It’s up to you.
Why you’ll love working here:
- Massive Impact: Shape the daily experience of tens of thousands of engineers at one of the world’s largest engineering organisations.
- Autonomy: Work in small, empowered teams with global reach and influence.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with stakeholders and engineering teams to brainstorm and co-create ideas, approaches, and solutions.
- Define and Document Product Features: Translate user needs and business objectives into detailed, actionable product features. Create clear and concise product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma, along with our established Design System.
- Ensure that designs follow best practices and use research & testing to inform and validate.
- Feature Lifecycle Management: Oversee product features from conception through launch and iteration, including gathering requirements, defining scope, and monitoring performance.
- Confidently challenge the status quo, encouraging all involved to address root causes to ensure the best outcome for users.
- Deliver high-quality design assets to the engineering team, along with clear guidance to ensure all aspects of the designs are fully understood.
Required Skills, Experience and Competencies
- Strong industry experience.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving.
- Proven track record on complex, enterprise-scale or consumer design projects.
- Creative flair and a good eye for design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
What we’ll provide you
This is a unique role that will put you in the position to be part of a new venture and actively drive change. Every day there will be new challenges that will help you develop new skills that can drive your career. By joining Citi London, you will not only be part of a business casual workplace with a hybrid working model (up to 2 days working at home per week), but also receive a competitive base salary (which is annually reviewed), and enjoy a whole host of additional benefits such as:
- 27 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
- A discretional annual performance-related bonus.
- Private Medical Care & Life Insurance.
- Employee Assistance Program.
- Pension Plan.
- Paid Parental Leave.
- Special discounts for employees, family, and friends.
Alongside these benefits, Citi is committed to ensuring our workplace is where everyone feels comfortable coming to work as their whole self, every day. We want the best talent around the world to be energised to join us, motivated to stay, and empowered to thrive.
