The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a professional team or department. The team drives the overall financial governance and business analytic deliverables of the business. The role coordinates and manages activities such as the tracking of business financials, employee headcount and other administrative needs as necessary. Manages ad hoc projects as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with local and regional business management team to ensure alignment of business goals
- Assist leadership and stakeholders with developing projects, determining strategies, and defining/providing metrics
- Prepare analytics in support of executive reviews, including business initiatives
- Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and senior management to influence behaviour and decision making
- Execute analysis of annual 3-year Strategic/Operating Plans, mid-year reforecasts, and monthly outlooks in partnership with management team and LFOs
- Prepare materials, record minutes, and follow-up as needed on items for business committees and/or regular business meetings
- Seek out sources, track, consolidate and analyse ad-hoc and regular business requests
- Drive implementation of business-driven projects across functions, working closely with relevant senior leadership
- Provide input into and recommend technology change, process improvements and control framework enhancements
- Seek out and ensure corrective actions are implemented for control related issues and remedial action is taken
- Communicate business knowledge, product knowledge, and requirements to business and support functions
- Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in financial markets business or business support
- 6+ years of demonstrated success in managing large, complex budgets/financials
- 3+ years of experience in global and complex settings with multiple stakeholders
- 3+ years experience working with data metrics
- Must have strong data analytics experience
- Must have strong Excel experience
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Ability to work with counterparts in different areas of organisation
- Ability to manage workstreams in parallel and prioritise
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Experience in Chief of Staff Office or FP&A is preferred
- Demonstrated expertise of Microsoft Office product suite; basic macro coding experience and proficiency in Microsoft Access and PowerPoint preferred
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Technology organisation experience is a plus
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
