Team/Role Overview

The Team manages the Risk and Control Program for Citi Markets. We operate a robust control environment in a fast-paced workplace whilst complying with global regulations and internal policies. This role is integral to upholding the effective oversight and governance of the Markets Regulatory Management program, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and a strong control culture.

What you’ll do

  • Lead BAU regulatory management with specific focus on European regulations, engaging with multiple stakeholders and managing complex regulatory changes through to completion.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the regulatory management program, proactively recommending and implementing enhancements to optimize program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Coordinate & Chair monthly BAU Governance forums with 1st and 2nd line stakeholders. Proactively identify emerging risks/issues and ensure appropriate escalation and tracking.
  • Liaise with business and MCA partners on any deficiencies or control gaps and ensure appropriate remedial actions are identified and completed.
  • Offer comprehensive guidance and support to Markets stakeholders regarding system access, functionality, and optimal usage of regulatory management and platforms.
  • Lead on preparation and presentation of comprehensive reporting and governance dashboards for senior management, ensuring data accuracy and clarity.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices, consistent execution, and standardization across Markets business functions, partnering with business units on both business-as-usual activities and strategic initiatives within the area of responsibility.
  • Support various ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required, contributing to the continuous improvement and evolution of regulatory management processes.

What we’ll need from you

  • Degree level qualification, or sufficient relevant industry experience.
  • Extended experience in financial services and/or operational risk. Previous experience in risk management, risk and controls, compliance, or audit functions.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment, specifically European Regulations, including relevant laws, regulations, and controls.
  • Experience in project work, process re-design, or change management initiatives.
  • Excellent relationship-building, problem-solving, and communication skills, including experience of presenting and hosting forums with multiple stakeholders at senior levels.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and recommend ways to improve quality, controls, and efficiency.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively, and navigate conflicting priorities.
  • Computer literacy; proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience or knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and prompt creation.
