Team/Role Overview

The Client Advisory team is a practitioner-led group that partners with Citi clients to enhance the performance of treasury and finance functions. The Associate Advisor (AVP) will play a key role in shaping client insights and advisory content, working closely with senior advisors and global stakeholders. This role is designed for a high-potential individual who is keen to contribute ideas, challenge conventional thinking, and help evolve how the team operates - leveraging data, technology, and new ways of working. You will gain exposure to senior clients, contribute to thought leadership, and help drive innovation across the advisory agenda.

This role requires strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling, and high-impact materials for both internal and client audiences. The Associate will be expected to build deep expertise in corporate finance and treasury, alongside a strong understanding of the strategic direction of Citi Services and the evolving needs of our clients. A commercial, forward-looking mindset and the confidence to form and articulate independent perspectives will be key to contributing meaningfully to the business objectives.

What you’ll do

  • Contribute to the development of high-impact advisory content across Payments, Liquidity, and Working Capital, combining research, client insights, and independent analysis
  • Actively participate in client engagements and internal discussions, bringing prepared perspectives, challenging assumptions, and identifying opportunities to add value
  • Partner with senior advisors and cluster leads to shape client narratives, training materials, and strategic messaging
  • Identify opportunities to enhance team effectiveness through improved processes, use of data, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI-enabled research, content creation, workflow optimisation)
  • Support the creation of thought leadership on topics such as digitalisation in finance, the future of payments, and evolving client operating models
  • Build a strong understanding of corporate treasury, capital markets, and global financial dynamics, with a view to developing into a trusted advisor
  • Collaborate across Citi teams and external partners to bring diverse perspectives and best-in-class insights into client deliverables
  • Take ownership of specific initiatives or workstreams, demonstrating initiative, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset

What we’ll need from you

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Solid understanding of, or strong interest in developing expertise in, corporate finance, treasury, and capital markets
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to create clear and impactful materials
