Citi is looking for a Senior Product Development Specialist to join its Complex Assets team within Investor Services, based at Citi's EMEA headquarters in London.
In this role, you will act as a recognised technical authority, executing the end-to-end product development lifecycle for complex financial instruments — including OTC derivatives, Exchange Traded Derivatives, and Portfolio Swaps — and translating client needs and market trends into tangible product solutions.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role for a specialist who combines deep domain knowledge with strong analytical capability and a track record of delivering across cross-functional product initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Execute the end-to-end product development lifecycle for Complex Assets, scoping product releases, defining technical requirements, and tracking delivery against agreed business priorities.
- Gather and organise client insights, market analyses, and internal innovation ideas to develop new product concepts, features, and functionality aligned to business objectives.
- Coordinate the design and delivery of product features through to release, serving as a product ambassador and key technical point of contact within the user community.
- Identify and implement solutions across data analytics, reporting, trade workflows, and trade processing to address specific client and business requirements.
- Produce clear project plans, business analysis documentation, and technical requirements specifications to underpin feasible and well-structured product execution.
- Engage directly with sales, business managers, and Technology teams to understand long-term strategic goals, incorporate industry trends, and shape the product and solutions roadmap.
- Conduct controls and governance activities, including security and access reviews, access approvals, and controls testing, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and firm policy.
- Required Qualifications & Skills
- 6 to 10 years of experience in the Complex Assets or Derivatives industry in a Product Development, Technology, or Business Analysis capacity within financial services.
- Deep technical understanding of multi-asset class OTC derivatives and their lifecycle events from a systems and processing perspective, with solid knowledge of Portfolio Swaps and Exchange Traded Derivatives.
- Solid understanding of fund accounting principles as they apply to complex financial instruments and their operational lifecycle.
- Direct end-to-end project delivery experience, with strong familiarity with product development methodologies and cross-functional programme delivery.
- Ability to structure and break down complex problems, develop actionable technical solutions, and drive outcomes with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in business analysis, data investigation, troubleshooting data quality issues, and conducting exploratory and descriptive analysis of business datasets under time pressure.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
- Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Familiarity with analytical and reporting tools such as Qlikview, Tableau, or MS Access, applied to product or business analysis tasks.
- Experience generating management-level reports and presentations that clearly communicate complex findings to senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain internal and external networks, contributing to cross-functional delivery with a collaborative and detail-oriented approach.
