Who We Look For

We are transforming Margin and Collateral, OTC derivatives, Payments and Cash Management domains in Markets Technology. You will participate in the full SDLC, working with business users, engineers, QA and support teams to create a technology product vision and roadmap and ensure timely delivery within budget. You will join a global technology team of product owners and engineers solving complex business problems with simple, effective solutions. The role is for a strong analyst with excellent communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities, solving complex business and process challenges and delivering robust, high-quality solutions.

Job Description: The Senior Business Analyst liaises between business users and technologists to exchange information clearly and concisely, coordinating with the Technology team. The objective is to support continuous exploration of business performance and drive planning.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with prospective and operational business users to understand needs and translate them into technology product requirements.
  • Align with the team vision and create a product roadmap; manage the product backlog and prioritise tasks.
  • Participate in all stages of product creation, including scoping, objectives, and necessary system enhancements for complex, high-impact projects.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation options, considering business implications.
  • Consult with business clients to determine system specifications and partner with management across units to meet objectives.
  • Evaluate new IT developments and evolving requirements to recommend systems enhancements or alternatives.
  • Provide analyses to define problems, develop innovative solutions and influence strategic decisions.
  • Assess risk in business decisions, uphold Citi’s reputation, and ensure compliance with laws and policies; escalate and report control issues with transparency.
  • Work with the wider product team and end users to deliver updates and participate in scrum activities and sprints.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience as product owner or senior business analyst in product companies.
  • Experience delivering strategic change programs in a fast-paced financial product environment.
  • Adept in agile practices with ability to develop, manage and continuously prioritise backlog.
  • Product knowledge in Margin & collateral, OTC derivatives, or payments flows is a plus.
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, proactive; a leader who adds product impact to strategic and tactical technology.
  • Strong, influential communicator engaging with senior management across business, corporate functions, and IT.
  • Strong risk management and control mindset; evaluative judgment based on factual analysis in dynamic situations.
  • Self-reliant, problem solver, results-oriented; able to build trust as a business partner with client focus.
  • Awareness of external and internal best practices; ability to conceptualize the organization’s model and future development.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) with strong Excel data-analysis skills.
  • Experience with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle and agile practices.
  • Knowledge of business analysis principles.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
