Job Summary

The Equity Finance team are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Test Engineer to join our team in Belfast.

Citi is embarking on a bold multi‑year transformation for the Prime Services business.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Java and SQL, with proven experience in developing and maintaining automated test scripts through the use of practices such as BDD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and work within a BDD (Behaviour-Driven Development) automation framework.
  • Creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases, test estimation, regression testing, test automation development, and other project artifacts.
  • Acting as a quality gate and identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs before software products are delivered to our clients.
  • Implementation and execution of API based automation test for functional and non-functional testing using Citi approved tools.
  • Identifying and highlighting ways to continuously optimize the way in which QA function operates to create an efficient, scalable team.
  • Work with the business and Production Support to investigate issues and prevent production defects.
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
  • Together with the team contribute to innovative & best-in-class solutions for our business.
  • Apply proven software testing concepts and methodologies to daily tasks.
  • Collaborate with the development team to identify and resolve issues.
  • Adapt to changing business needs and effectively shift focus on priorities as required.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Proven industry experience in automation testing with strong hands‑on experience in Java.
  • Solid experience with BDD automation frameworks (Cucumber).
  • Strong hands‑on experience in API automation/testing.
  • Prior experience in the usage of SQL for database validation and testing.
  • Fair working knowledge of CI/CD process, Jenkins, Git, etc.
  • Excellent logical, analytical, problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing business requirements and priorities.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to the Finance industry or a background in financial applications is a significant advantage.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
