Team / Role Overview

Citi's Markets Data & Analytics Solutions team is looking for a Program & Data Analyst (AVP) to play a central role in shaping how OTC Derivatives data is sourced, governed, and delivered across a global markets business.

Sitting at the intersection of data, technology, and business change, this role gives you the opportunity to take ownership of complex data challenges and drive meaningful outcomes across one of the world's leading financial institutions.

If you are analytically sharp, self-directed, and energized by solving hard problems in a fast-moving environment, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse complex, large-scale data problems across OTC Derivatives — including Interest Rate Swaps, Credit Default Swaps, FX Derivatives, and Equity Derivatives — and translate them into clear, actionable deliverables that drive business outcomes.
  • Partner with Business, Technology, and other key stakeholders to design and deliver strategic data solutions, ensuring requirements are accurately captured, correctly implemented, and delivered on schedule.
  • Own the quality and integrity of OTC Derivatives trade data by working closely with Technology teams to validate accuracy, completeness, and end-to-end data lineage.
  • Contribute to the overall data governance agenda, helping to define standards and steer the direction of data management practices across the team.
  • Proactively identify delivery risks and issues, escalating and resolving them in a timely and structured manner while keeping relevant stakeholders informed throughout.
  • Coordinate and execute data-centric project deliverables with pace and precision, maintaining a hands‑on approach to day‑to‑day technical delivery.
  • Apply structured programme management techniques to plan, track, and communicate progress across concurrent workstreams in a change or front office environment.
  • Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and relational databases, including querying, manipulating, and interpreting data to support business decisions.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Python applied to data analysis tasks.
  • Foundational understanding of OTC Derivatives instruments — including Interest Rate Swaps, Credit Default Swaps, FX Derivatives, and Equity Derivatives — and how they move through the trade lifecycle.
  • Exposure to data programmes covering the sourcing, transformation, enrichment, and governance of trade data in a business or change context.
  • Familiarity with structured project management methods in a front office or change delivery environment.
  • A degree‑level qualification or equivalent professional experience, supported by a track record of high‑quality delivery in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrable examples of independently diagnosing and resolving complex data or operational problems from first principles.
  • Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
  • An entrepreneurial approach to delivery — able to develop ideas, formalize plans, and drive execution with a high degree of autonomy and without close oversight.
  • The ability to distil complex or ambiguous business problems into simple, well‑reasoned solutions and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • A proactive mindset that naturally identifies emerging issues and opportunities ahead of time and moves quickly to address them.

What We Offer

  • A hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely, giving you the structure and flexibility to do your best work.
  • Exposure to complex, high‑stakes data and programme delivery challenges across Citi's global Markets business.
  • The autonomy to take ownership of meaningful work from day one, with real accountability for outcomes that matter to the business.
  • Access to learning and development resources that support your professional growth and long‑term career progression.
  • Wellbeing support and work‑life balance initiatives designed to help you perform sustainably over the long term.
  • Competitive financial benefits and compensation in line with your experience and the scope of the role.
