Team/Role Overview: The successful candidate will join the Cluster UK and Europe Domestic Payments team focusing on managing and driving Citi's Payments business in the UK and Europe markets. Sitting in Citi’s Services business, the role involves the management of strategy, product development, risk and controls and commercial growth, ensuring full alignment with the regulatory environment and driving financial performance. You will be at the centre of a large network of partners coming together to deliver market leading solutions.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage critical, strategic initiatives across payment solutions for the cluster – with a strong focus on product development and execution.
  • Lead assessment, requirements and delivery on the UK and Europe cluster book of work.
  • Lead end-to-end assessment, requirements definition, and delivery for the UK and Europe cluster portfolio, ensuring alignment with investment priorities and long-term capability planning.
  • Implement and manage oversight and reporting on the delivery of all payment initiatives for the cluster.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the application architecture for business delivery and the end-to-end experience of clients when using Citi’s solutions – ensure that this is best in class for any new solutions or features being implemented.
  • Lead designated cluster projects – regulatory or commercial, to ensure timely and successful implementation.
  • Contribute to shape the strategy of domestic payments in UK and Europe, working with the countries, subclusters and global teams to continue to build on our existing solutions or create new ones to continue to offer a winning proposition.
  • Own and drive PNL growth – proactively understanding market landscape and clients’ needs and working with partners across the organization on commercial activities, pipeline origination and conversion.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

What we’ll need from you:

  • Significant relevant experience and an in-depth understanding of the Payments landscapes market with a focus on the European landscape.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing and architecture.
  • Experience in implementing payment mandates.
  • Experience in developing and launching complex payments projects and initiatives.
  • Experience in leading the successful implementation of complex projects.
  • Experience in working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and influence.
  • Ability to create business cases and related presentations and materials.
  • Applies ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution for complicated and/or unique situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • Risk management mindset. Experience in assessing, documenting and managing business risk as part of a product organisation.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with a high degree of collaboration with cross functional teams.
  • Experience with AI initiatives is desirable.
