- Position Objective
- Develop and implement automated market‑making models and data‑driven trading tools for the rates business.
- Improve and transform infrastructure for automated market‑making models and data‑driven trading tools.
Responsibilities
- Implement electronic market‑making models (hedging algorithms, bid‑offer models, price predictors, automated pricing models) using a wide variety of programming languages, including Java, KDB, and Python.
- Develop data‑driven tools for trade recommendations and trading activity analysis.
- Optimize and streamline the existing technology stack used for pricing, hedging and trading analysis, including live pricing and backtesting; define and develop strategic improvements to the stack.
- Stay abreast of technological innovations to facilitate their adoption within the team and coordinate migrations from legacy systems.
- Collaborate closely with Traders, technology professionals and data specialists.
- Work in partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Electronic Trading Risk Management, Model Risk Management and the Market Data Team to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
- Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance, ethics, and expense discipline; disseminate technological best practices within the team.
- Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions and ensure all team members understand the need to consider the firm’s reputation.
- Adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct, the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services, and all relevant policies and procedures.
- Obtain and maintain all required registrations and licenses within the appropriate timeframe.
- Demonstrate ethical judgment and compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and manage control issues with transparency.

- Experience with messaging and data serialization technologies, market data processing, API design, latency optimization, code testing, build and deployment tools.
- Experience taking ownership of existing technologies, building new ones, and performing technology migrations.
- Working knowledge of rates financial instruments and mathematical tools used in algorithmic trading.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Education
- Master’s degree preferred.
