The Lending Advisor Generalist is a strategic professional who closely follows the latest trends in their field and adapts them for application within their job and the business. Recognized as a subject matter expert, strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level, as well as for external client negotiation and communication.
The candidate is an experienced lending product specialist and credit officer within the Lending Advisory business, with direct client coverage responsibility. They are required to have strong structuring skills, origination/marketing capabilities, and sound credit judgment. Responsibilities include:
- Marketing and sale of the full product range, including client calling and account planning in partnership with Private Bankers.
- Understanding and anticipating clients' needs, following up with effective products and financial solutions.
- Maximising revenue generation whilst achieving at least minimum return targets ensuring responsible lending growth.
- Responsible for appropriate transaction structuring and execution with appropriate risk and return characteristics, ensuring compliance with Credit Policy and Risk Acceptance standards.
- Defining, coordinating, and overseeing the analytical activities of the deal team.
- Overseeing preparation of credit and capital allocation memos.
- Negotiating, obtaining, and closing credit documentation, ensuring compliance with all Citi and external policies.
- Responsible for early problem recognition and proposing credit classification and appropriate risk rating on specific transactions/relationships.
This role requires a strong mix of credit and process skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, including clients and seniors of the bank, to deliver against budget and ensure processes meet the Bank’s highest standards. Participation in remedial management actions together with other internal teams may be required.
