The Wealth at Work Investment Associate is a seasoned professional role based in London and involves aspects of the financial planning process.
The candidate is expected to have in-depth disciplinary knowledge, be able to filter, prioritise and validate complex material from multiple sources, and have a basic understanding of financial planning concepts such as pensions, ISAs, investments and protection. Awareness of FCA regulations and compliance principles is key.
Responsibilities
- Provide a wide variety of service and investment advice to a High Net Worth & Ultra High Net Worth client base within the UK and wider EMEA region.
- Work closely with senior team members to deliver investment solutions.
- Support the senior members of the investment team in the delivery of investment solutions to clients.
- Prepare and deliver financial plans in partnership with the Banking Team to generate a sustained investment pipeline.
- Monitor markets and provide guidance to internal and external clients, incorporating views of the Citi Global Wealth Investment Committee.
- Prepare investment policy statements for prospective clients.
- Analyse economic trends and advise on their effects on investors’ portfolios.
- Recommend changes to investors’ holdings based on economic, financial and market factors.
- Develop relationships and generate ideas with bankers and clients to grow the asset base.
- Engage clients on investment themes and solutions, and assist in the execution of investment solutions and trades.
- Attend internal and external meetings to stay current on financial markets, products and services offered by Citi Global Wealth.
- Adhere to prospecting code of conduct: acquire new private client accounts only by referral or personal contact; prohibit seminars, mail campaigns, cold calling and other solicitation methods.
- Assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, clients and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Source and input financial data for the production of financial plans, leading to investment opportunities.
Recommended Qualifications
- 2‑5 years of experience in investment advisory.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and self‑motivated.
- Investment Advisory Diploma or CFA qualification preferred.
