Citi Market Operations is a dynamic, global and diverse organisation, with a presence in over 60 Countries covering all post-execution Operations teams including product aligned Middle Office groups, Settlements, Margin, Asset Servicing, Listed Derivative & Commodities Operations.

The role resides within the EMEA Commodities Operations team based in London, who are primarily responsible for supporting and partnering with the Commodities Business across the full suite of their activities. The Commodities business transacts high volumes across many different markets including Oil, Precious Metals, Base Metals, Softs, Power, Freight & Emissions. This Senior Vice President (SVP) position is responsible for establishing an operations team to support the Commodities Vaulting and Clearing business. The candidate’s focus will be establishing robust operations procedures to support the business, partnering with technology and the business to develop the vaulting and clearing platform and workflows, implementing a robust risk and control environment that fits within Market’s Operations governance structure and developing a team of talented individuals to support the business and its clients.

We require a specialist with a strong understanding of the London Precious Metals market with an emphasis on the metals vaulting process flows, clearing of over-the-counter (OTC) Precious metals by London Precious Metals Clearing Limited (LPMCL), risk management, inventory management and who can demonstrate previous experience in managing a change / transformation program.

What you will do:

• Act as a strategic partner with all potential stakeholders in onboarding and growing the Metals Vaulting business.
• Partner with technology to ensure proper build out of systems, processes, and develop the standards of risk and controls for Metals Vaulting.
• Serve as an analytical and procedural expert in the full trade life cycle while supporting a wide range of internal and external clients.
• Assist with the planning of actions and resources to support new business.
• Manage complex and variable operations related issues (e.g., across trade booking / settlement / confirmations / etc.), define and communicate problems, develop innovative solutions, streamline processes and lead change-the-bank initiatives.
• Closely follow trends in the industry, identify cost saving opportunities and build effective relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• Increase productivity and efficiencies by analyzing and presenting data to develop new solutions and oversee the integrity of process.
• Assist with overseeing the risk control environment, compliance efforts to follow policies and procedures and keep abreast of Citi’s operational processes and best practices in business strategy.
• Serve as an advisor and coach to new or junior level staff on procedures and work processes across multiple departments.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

What we need from you:

• Extensive experience in London Precious Metals Vaulting and Clearing required.
• Senior to advanced level experience in a related role preferred.
• Subject matter expert in one or more areas of function.
• Demonstrated analytical skills.
• Proven ability to manage various concurrent activities/projects in a high-risk environment.
• Effective project management and negotiation skills.
• Consistently demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal communication.
