This role is within the Equities Electronic Technology organization within the Global FIX Engineering Team. The FIX Engineering team is responsible for all client onboarding as well as FIX connection support and maintenance across Citi markets. This gives the successful candidate the opportunity to work within all asset classes and across businesses at Citi. The role requires working directly with external clients, software vendors and various multi‑asset business teams at Citi. The team globally provides 24/5 follow‑the‑sun FIX Connection coverage through teams in Singapore, Pune, New York, and the UK.
The candidate will be expected to participate in prioritisation, project planning, certification, and production releases. The broad coverage of the FIX Engineering team across Citi Markets gives the candidate an exceptional opportunity to be involved in a vast range of projects and businesses. This is a key position, working with multiple groups: the front‑office business, development, QA, BA groups and Production support. This position involves requirement analysis and capture, working closely with the business users and other technology teams to define solutions, and implementing these solutions using Citi’s strategic connectivity platform (One Execution).
We are seeking a FIX Engineer with strong equities domain, market access and client connectivity knowledge and technical ability (FIX protocol and network understanding). Able to work independently, has good communication skills, and has experience in working on complex and medium to large projects.
What You’ll Do
- Work within a global team of experienced FIX Engineers to establish and maintain connectivity from external clients to Citi FIX gateways.
- Communicate effectively with business, development, QA, infrastructure and production support teams.
- Use technical skills to ensure business requirements are understood at all levels of delivery.
- Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution across development, support and technical business users.
- Establish strong working relationships across different technology areas (QA, Support, etc.).
- New client connectivity onboarding and certification.
- Migrating existing connectivity from legacy platform to new as required, 2nd line support for all FIX issues and client connectivity related requisition for Equity, Derivative and Rates businesses.

What We’ll Need From You
- Experience in FIX Engineering or systems analysis role.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in FIX Protocol.
- Familiar with networking fundamentals.
- Good understanding of electronic trading and financial markets.
- Experience in FIX client onboarding and certification projects.
- Knowledge of third‑party networks and EMS/OMS software vendors (e.g., Fidessa, NYFIX, Bloomberg, TradingScreen, ITG etc.).
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Prior experience with Aegis Client Simulator or other FIX testing/certification tools.
- Experience with UNIX, SQL and XML.
