This Application Support role sits at the heart of the Global Markets e-trading infrastructure, providing RTB (Run The Bank) Production Support for Client Connectivity and Futures Trading Execution Support. The successful candidate will liaise with trading floor users and possess the following technical skillset.
Responsibilities
- The Application Support Senior Analyst provides technical and business support for users of Citi applications, delivering quick resolutions to issues and driving stability, efficiency, and effectiveness improvements.
- Maintain application systems that have completed development and are running in daily operations.
- Manage, maintain, and support applications and their operating environments with a focus on stability, quality, and functionality against SLAs.
- Conduct start-of-day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handovers.
- Perform same-day risk reconciliations.
- Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
- Identify ways to maximize the potential of the applications used.
- Assess risk and impact of production issues and escalate to business and technology management in a timely manner.
- Ensure storage and archiving procedures are in place and functioning correctly.
- Define scope and objectives for complex application enhancements and problem resolution.
- Review and develop application contingency planning to ensure availability to users.
- Prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements with development and production support teams.
- Participate in application releases from development through testing and production deployment.
- Engage in post-implementation analysis to ensure successful system design and functionality.
- Consider implications of technology on the current environment, identifying risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues; communicate impact.
- Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.
- Act as liaison between users/traders and internal technology groups and vendors.
- Raise problems to appropriate technology and business teams while adhering to SLAs.
- Act as advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts.
- Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations.
- Directly impact the business by ensuring quality of work and influencing related teams.
- Demonstrate effective communication and diplomacy in exchanging complex information.
- Take ownership of Support Project items focusing on Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned and operates with limited supervision; exercises independence of judgment.
- Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in an Application Support role.
- Experience installing, configuring, or supporting business applications.
- Experience with some programming languages and willingness/ability to learn.
- Advanced execution capabilities and ability to adjust quickly to changes and re-prioritization.
- FIX protocol, Unix, SQL, E-trading experience (connectivity, market data, financial markets).
- Intermediate coding skills (nice to have).
Education
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
