Team Overview
E-Trading Risk and Controls (ETRC) is a First-Line risk team which is part of the Global Markets COO function. ETRC works with Global Markets E-Trading businesses, CAOs and second-line functions to implement the E-Trading Risk Framework.
Key responsibilities include:
- Governance and oversight of E-Trading businesses across Markets, including annual attestation/review of key E-Trading documentation, and Market Access Rule for the US (MiFID II Annual Self-Assessment in EMEA).
- Project management of key markets-wide E-Trading initiatives and remediation of corrective actions arising from Regulatory and Internal Audit findings.
- Real-Time Monitoring of Citi’s algorithmic trading activities for signs of disorderly trading.
- Design, deliver, and maintain Market’s E-Trading Controls, such as Citi’s golden-source repository for E-Trading Strategies (algorithms)/Applications and the E-Trading limits management system.
- Lead reviews by global banking and securities regulators, Compliance testing, and Internal Audit of E-Trading business, including preparation of responses to findings and corrective action plans (as needed).
Role Overview:
- Coordinate the MIFID II Annual Self-Assessment (ASA) on behalf of the Business and other First Line functions and provide expert guidance and support during reviews of the ASA by Second Line of Defence and Internal Audit.
- Perform Delta Monitoring (DM) for the EMEA region, including investigation of relevant alerts for unapproved control threshold updates.
- Perform Real-Time Monitoring (RTM) as cover for when other team members are on leave and certain bank holidays.
- For relevant alert triggers, escalate to management and second line where necessary.
- Provide updates on behalf of ETRC at product governance forums attended by stakeholders across first and second line of defence.
- Develop and manage key relationships with the EMEA E-Trading Businesses, Technology, Risk and Compliance functions.
- Conduct periodic reviews of limit publication data vs golden source repository control data and work with the Businesses and Technology to remediate as required.
What You’ll Bring:
- Relevant E-Trading experience preferably in a controls or trading related role (Trader/Desk Assistant, Middle Office, Compliance, Audit).
- Knowledge of E-Trading regulation and guidance.
- Experience with the MIFID II annual self-assessment preferred.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to see the big picture with high attention to critical detail.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance short-term and medium-term remedial action.
Education:
Bachelor's/University degree, Master’s degree preferred.
