This is a unique opportunity to lead financial strategy, analytics, and transformation initiatives across Citi’s Global Market Data Expense expenses. Working across EMEA, NAM, and APAC, you will partner with senior business leaders, trading desks, finance, procurement, and operations teams to drive cost transparency, optimize costs, and deliver strategic transformation initiatives leveraging analytics, automation, and AI. This highly visible Vice President role offers the opportunity to influence decision‑making at a Global level while helping shape the future operating model for market data management across Citi.

The Business Expense Transparency Group is a global function responsible for optimising market data spend and delivering best‑in‑class expense management across Citi. Operating across NAM, EMEA and APAC, the team oversees the full market data expense lifecycle. The team partners closely with Finance, Operations, Business Advisory, Procurement, Controllers, Trading Desks, Business Management and Senior Leadership to support effective financial oversight and informed decision‑making.

This role plays a key part in ensuring market data expenses are accurately managed, reported and aligned with Citi’s financial and strategic objectives. Working across regions and business lines, you will provide financial insight, transparency and recommendations that support senior management decisions. The position suits a highly analytical professional who can work both as part of a team, and independently, influence stakeholders and drive measurable business improvements.

  • Financial Management & Expense Optimisation
    • Collaborate in budgeting, forecasting, planning, and expense analysis across Citi’s Global Market Data Expense.
    • Monitor performance against budget, YoY, MoM, highlighting risks and opportunities while providing cost transparency across all businesses for Total Citi.
    • Partner with Business Advisory and Executive Leadership to support cost‑saving and usage optimisation initiatives.
    • Develop reporting, metrics and trade analysis to improve visibility of vendor spend and expense trends.
    • Validate expenses, support reconciliations, allocations, payments, and audit requirements.
    • Partner Globally with Finance and Operations to ensure accurate reporting by business, legal entity, and region.
    • Support month‑end and quarter‑end activities, including accruals, prepayments, ledger investigations, and financial commentary.
  • Strategic Analytics & Business Partnership
    • Support actionable insights that support Business Advisory and Management decision‑making for cost reduction initiatives.
    • Produce management reporting for stakeholders, including senior leadership.
    • Translate complex financial data into clear financial expense commentary.
    • Partner with Trading Desks, Business CAOs, Finance teams and Senior Leaders.
    • Lead expense monthly reviews with Management and BET, presenting performance against Budget, YoY, and other financial variance scenarios.
  • Transformation & Continuous Improvement
    • Lead or contribute to automation, process redesign, and AI‑enabled initiatives.
    • Drive improvements across reporting, governance, and expense management processes.
    • Enhance allocation, accrual, and reporting processes.
    • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, strengthen controls, and increase scalability.
  • Governance & Financial Control
    • Maintain strong accounting, reconciliation, and control standards.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
    • Investigate and resolve financial variances and reporting issues.
    • Support the development of robust accounting controls and governance frameworks.
    • Promote transparency, accountability, and operational excellence.

What we’ll need from you

  • Strong experience producing management reporting & financial cost transparency for senior stakeholders.
  • Solid accounting experience, including accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet management.
  • Experience implementing accounting controls and resolving financial issues.
  • Proven record of proactive process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience supporting planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and deliver clear recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation to senior audiences.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Experience in Financial Services, or Market Data environments.
  • Exposure to automation, analytics, or AI‑driven process improvement.
  • Experience partnering with Front Office, Trading, Operations, Finance teams, and Senior Management.
