This is a high-impact, revenue-generating position at the heart of Citi's Cash Equities platform.
As a Sales Trader covering US institutional clients across both Developed European and Emerging markets, you'll operate as a hybrid Sales/Trading professional acting as the primary execution point for sophisticated institutional investors while generating commission, sourcing liquidity, and serving as a strategic conduit into Citi's equity markets franchise.
This is a role where collaboration is paramount.
You'll work across Prime, Generalist and Specialist Sales, Trading, Delta One, Equity Capital Markets, and Derivatives teams to deliver cross-product content, generate actionable ideas, and provide market intelligence that shapes client decision-making.

What you'll do
- Serve as the primary execution contact for US institutional clients—including hedge funds, asset managers, pension funds, and insurance companies—across developed European and emerging markets equities.
Build deep, trusted relationships underpinned by market expertise, transparency, and responsiveness.
- Proactively identify and provide liquidity for client order flow, leveraging Citi's global trading network and market-making capabilities.
Execute complex, large-scale trades efficiently while managing risk and optimizing execution quality.
- Develop and communicate actionable investment ideas, thematic insights, and cross-asset trading strategies.
Collaborate with Research, Trading, and Structuring teams to deliver differentiated content that drives client engagement and revenue.
- Work seamlessly across Prime Finance, Delta One, Equity Derivatives, and Equity Capital Markets to provide holistic solutions.
Identify opportunities for product cross-sell and ensure clients benefit from Citi's full suite of equity offerings.
- Gather, synthesize, and disseminate market colour and client flow information to internal stakeholders.
Contribute to desk strategy, positioning, and risk management discussions with a client-centric perspective.
- Drive profitability through intelligent pricing, volume growth, and value-add execution. Manage client P&L impact and align trading activity with commercial objectives.
- What we need from you
- Extensive Equity Markets Experience in cash equities sales trading, agency trading, or execution services within a top-tier investment bank, with demonstrated success covering US institutional clients and executing in European and emerging markets.
- Comprehensive understanding of cash equity products (common stocks, ADRs, GDRs, ETFs), market structure, and electronic trading platforms.
Strong familiarity with both developed and emerging market dynamics, regulations, and liquidity profiles.
- Track record of building and managing relationships with sophisticated institutional investors.
Ability to understand client objectives, anticipate needs, and deliver tailored execution solutions.
- Comfort working across Prime, Derivatives, Capital Markets, and Sales teams.
Ability to navigate complexity, share clients and ideas openly, and contribute to a culture of meritocracy and mutual support.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to articulate complex market views clearly, negotiate effectively, and influence both clients and internal stakeholders.
