A senior client leadership role with genuine career development opportunities.
Location: Leicester City Centre
Type: Hybrid (min. 3 days in office)
Please note: this role requires a minimum of 3 days per week in our Leicester city centre office. We’re not able to consider fully remote applications.
We’re a strategic brand and creative agency of 10 people, doing work that punches well above our weight. Our clients include large global B2B PLCs, a well‑known UK educational institution, and a portfolio of purpose‑driven organisations. Complex briefs, serious strategy, and genuinely creative output.
In 2025 we transitioned to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). The business is held in trust on behalf of everyone who works here, which shapes how decisions get made, how success is shared, and what the culture feels like. Employees can all share in the success of the agency through tax‑free beneficiary payments.
Our offices are in a beautiful Georgian building in Leicester city centre (and parking is available!).
The Opportunity
Our current Account Director has stepped up to become MD and Head of Client Services — a promotion that reflects just how much this role can grow. We’re now looking for an experienced AD to take ownership of a portfolio that includes some of our biggest and most exciting clients: a leading brand in the world of Building and Construction, a Global brand in Energy Infrastructure and a prominent international educational institution.
This is not a management‑from‑a‑distance role. We need someone who loves being hands‑on — leading client strategy, writing sharp briefs, and pushing brilliant work through a small, talented team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Working alongside the MD on the agency’s flagship account
- Working alongside the Insight & Strategy Director to ensure sharp thinking is leading everything we do
- Leading two further large accounts as the senior client contact
- Setting account strategy, spotting growth opportunities, and building strong long‑term client relationships
- Owning financial performance — profitability, utilisation, recoverability, and fee negotiation
- Contributing to new business — evaluating briefs, writing proposals, pitching
- Joining the operational board, with a route to becoming a company director
- Running projects across digital and non‑digital: websites, digital campaigns, and brand programmes
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll have at least 2 years of experience operating at Account Director level, with a strong B2B background. You’re genuinely comfortable at both ends of the role — leading strategy in a senior client meeting and getting into the detail of a brief. B2B experience is not a nice‑to‑have here. We work with clients who have complex products, long sales cycles, and audiences that demand credibility. You need to understand that world. You join the dots. You grow accounts by understanding the client’s business well enough to show them what’s possible. You’re commercially sharp, well‑organised, and you lead a team by example.
What we offer
- Find your balance with flexible working hours
- 8% contribution to your pension
- 1 day off for your birthday
- Potential EOT Tax Free Profit share up to £3,600 p/y
A note on the EOT
We’re employee‑owned, which means the business is held in trust on behalf of everyone who works here. That shapes everything: how decisions get made, how success gets shared, and what the culture feels like day to day. In practice it means tax‑free beneficiary payment to employees when the business performs, a genuine voice in how the agency is run, and the knowledge that the people around you care about the same things you do. If that model appeals to you, you’ll find Cite a very different kind of agency. If you need the structure of a large corporate environment, it’s probably not the right fit.
If you’re interested in this role, feel free to apply below, tell us about your skills and what you think you can bring to the Cite team.
