About the Role
Join CITB as a Vocational Instructor and inspire the next generation of Plant Operators in construction! You will be an experienced crane operator with experience in managing and supervising lifting operations. This role will enable you to deliver high‑quality training across our national construction colleges.
What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver practical and theoretical training on a range of plant machinery to apprentice and commercial learners.
- Deliver CPCS assessments.
- Ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Contribute to course development and continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for:
- Specialist licence to practice qualifications relevant to the role (e.g. CPCS, NPORs, A61 Appointed Person, A62 Crane Supervisor, Mobile, Tower or Crawler crane experience, Slinger Signaller).
- Minimum of Level 3 (or equivalent) vocational qualification directly related to the role.
- Recent (within last 5 years), verifiable experience operating a range of plant machinery in the construction industry or allied sectors.
- Excellent knowledge of current industry practices.
- Minimum of Level 3 teaching qualification (or commitment to achieve within one year of commencing role).
- A passion for teaching and mentoring others.
- Desirable – CPCS Tester/Trainer status, A1 assessor units, Level 3 teaching qualification, experience operating other plant/machines such as 360 excavators.
- Assessor Awards (or commitment to achieve within one year of commencing).
