The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Location: Mobile, managing your diary conducting onsite assessment visits with employers and learners within various construction sites within Scotland. Visit NCC Scotland in Glasgow as and when required and CITB/NCC training colleges at NCC East in Bircham Newton.

Additional Benefits: Car Allowance £6,452 p/a plus mobile working allowance £580. Special Requirements: The post holder will be eligible for either a company car or a car allowance in line with the grade for this role, subject to the vehicle nominated for business use complying with CITB’s Car Policy.

About the Role: Are you skilled in Construction Plant Maintenance and ready for a new challenge? Share your skills, shape the future, and make a real difference by assessing the next generation of plant professionals. We are looking for a Vocational Assessor to provide high-quality vocational training and assessment for all learners that reflects the specialist knowledge, skills and behaviours required in industry and by external awarding organisations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage and assess a cohort of apprentices, ensuring their progress aligns with industry standards and awarding body requirements.
  • Provide expert support to Apprenticeship Coaches during reviews, ensuring accurate evaluation of learner performance.
  • Maintain regular communication with employers and educators about learner progress and development.
  • Guide learners through portfolio development and workplace evidence gathering.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging training and assessments both on and off the job, tailored to individual learner needs.
  • Monitor learner progress using digital systems and implement strategies to support those at risk of falling behind.
  • Promote the development of personal, English, maths, and digital skills to prepare learners for work and life.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive learning environment, adhering to safeguarding and health & safety policies.
  • Build strong relationships with industry professionals to stay current with sector developments.
  • Continuously improve teaching practices through professional development and collaboration.

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum of Level 3 qualification directly related to Construction Plant Maintenance.
  • Relevant industry experience in the construction Plant Maintenance role.
  • Excellent knowledge of current industry practices.
  • Assessor Awards (or commitment to achieve within one year of commencing).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Hold a Level 2 qualification or higher in English and maths (e.g Scottish National 5 (A-C) or equivalent, or demonstrate proficiency at Level 2 or above through a recognised assessment in both subjects).
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Knowledge, skills, and experience in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Higher level construction related qualification.
  • Level 5 teaching qualification.
  • Experience of apprenticeship delivery.
