Location: Remote or Hybrid (3 days Wilmslow, 2 days from home)

The role
We are looking for a results‑focused, enthusiastic and forward‑thinking Senior SEO Executive to join the central marketing team at The Citation Group. With experience in managing and implementing search engine optimisation campaigns either in‑house or with an agency, you will have a proven record in maximising and demonstrating return on investment.
The role will require excellent organisation and communication reporting skills and an ability to report to and manage stakeholders across our portfolio of UK businesses/websites. You will demonstrate excellent technical and communication skills, with practical experience of implementing changes via a CMS (primarily Wordpress).

Collaborate with our third‑party agencies and in‑house digital and content teams, to drive leads, revenue, authority and visibility growth via traditional search, AIOs and LLMs.
- Use a variety of tools to produce actionable insights, including Google Analytics, Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, CMS platforms (WordPress).
- Research and implement search engine optimisation recommendations.
- Research and analyse competitor activity.
- Execute tests, collect and analyse data, identify trends and insights.
- Track, report and analyse website data.
- Work with the in‑house development, content and design teams to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented across our web estate.
- Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords.
- Develop an understanding of how the functions of the role interlink throughout the business and impact on others.
About you:
- Strong experience in an SEO role.
- Solid knowledge of SEO, search engines and LLMs.
- Proficient in reporting using various analytics tools including GA4.
- Understanding of web design, link building and site structure.
- Strong analytical skills and data‑driven thinking.
- Experience of producing reports and analysing data within GA4.
- Ability to manage stakeholders and peers from briefing through to delivery and reporting.
- Have a data‑led and customer‑centric view of content that will translate into site visits and conversions.
- Stay on top of industry trends to make sure your ideas are fresh and relevant.
- Proactively push your hypotheses forward so ideas become reality.
- Feel comfortable approaching and engaging with brand owners, developers, content producers and agencies.
- Be a strong planner and organiser to ensure work is completed within deadlines and to the highest standard.
