We are currently looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to support our busy Finance team. This role will be varied, covering standard month-end, year-end procedures as well as providing ad-hoc support for the group finance team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day financial transactions and record-keeping
- Monitor and respond to the accounts inbox, answering queries within agreed SLAs
- Billing preparation – collecting monthly figures, invoice preparations, monitoring contract agreements, billing schedules maintenance
- Credit control management, producing weekly statements, identifying and resolving account discrepancies, errors and potential anomalies; contacting customers to discuss payment
- Bank/credit card transactions and cash book reconciliations
- Process purchase invoices
- Processing of month-end journals as required
- Assist in month-end closing process (i.e. cost analysis by ledger account)
Qualifications
- Previous experience in day-to-day finance transactions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple deadlines across different disciplines
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to act on own initiative as well as being a team player
- Ability to identify potential issues and problems in a timely manner and take relevant actions
- Proficiency in using financial software (preferably Sage 50/200) with good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Eager to learn and absorb information from the team and other departments, contribute own viewpoint/opinion
