Citadel Source is recruiting for an experienced Temporary Finance Assistant to join our client based in Newport on an initial 3-month sickness cover contract. You will be joining a busy finance team, providing essential support across a range of day-to-day finance activities. This is an urgent requirement, so applicants must be available to start immediately or be on a very short notice period.

You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date, while assisting with key month-end activities.

About you

You will have previous experience working in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant role, with strong reconciliation experience across bank and balance sheet accounts. Confident using Excel, you will have excellent attention to detail and be able to manage your workload independently in a fast-paced environment. Experience using Sage 50 would be advantageous, and you must be available to start immediately and work fully office-based in the Newport area.

Your role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Complete bank reconciliations and associated financial postings
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
  • Process cash, cheque and petty cash transactions
  • Raise customer and recharge invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Produce monthly customer statements
  • Support month-end journals and other month-end finance processes
  • Complete scrap income postings
  • Provide general finance and administrative support as required
