The role
The Head of Finance will play a crucial role in driving the organisation’s sustainable and profitable growth. Working closely with the CFO, you will support the business in developing and improving standards across the business.
This role will be both autonomous and highly stimulating, suiting someone both ‘hands-on’ and commercially minded.
About you
The ideal candidate will be a degree-educated, qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA preferred). You will have demonstrated exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, preferably within a commercial finance or FP&A environment in industry. Due to the breadth and autonomy of this role, there will be interaction with stakeholders at all levels both within and outside of finance. You’ll bring a proactive, innovative, and detail-oriented approach to the role, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines. You will provide a personal touch to the business and take pride in supporting non-finance stakeholders in understanding the story behind the numbers.
As the Head of Finance, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Leading and developing the finance team to ensure efficient and effective service delivery (4 FTE)
- Overseeing the preparation of management accounts ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Manage weekly sales reporting process – ensuring accuracy of information
- Managing balance sheet controls, cash flow forecasting, and process improvement initiatives.
- Providing financial analysis and management information reporting to support strategic decision-making.
- Leading external audits and the preparation of annual financial statements, enhancing control processes and systems.
- Acting as a key business partner to senior operational leaders, offering insight and support to achieve organisational goals.
- Ensuring timely and accurate financial operations, including transactional processes and regulatory returns
- Ad hoc project requirements (including systems implementation/process improvement)
