The Role

Cision is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our New Business (Hunter) team, responsible for driving high-value, net-new revenue across the Mediterranean mid-markets, with a core focus on selling the PR Newswire suite of products. This is a full 360° new business role, owning complex sales cycles from initial prospecting through to close. You will take a structured, data-led and consultative approach, positioning PR Newswire as a strategic communications platform aligned to measurable business outcomes. The role requires strong commercial judgement and sales discipline, with consistent application of MEDDICC methodology to qualify, progress and accurately forecast opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

The role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Own and drive new business acquisition across the Mediterranean mid-markets, selling the PR Newswire suite of products.
  • Proactively build pipeline through disciplined outbound activity, including cold calling, LinkedIn and tools such as Cognism.
  • Apply MEDDICC rigorously to qualify opportunities and ensure clarity around decision criteria, metrics and buying process.
  • Position PR Newswire’s value proposition against clearly defined business outcomes and success metrics.
  • Lead complex, consultative sales engagements with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Deliver high-impact online and in-person product demonstrations tailored to customer objectives.
  • Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline with strong forecast accuracy.
  • Consistently achieve activity KPIs and revenue targets aligned to senior-level expectations.
  • Maintain structured, insight-led engagement throughout the buyer’s journey.
  • Ensure accurate, timely and detailed CRM updates in Salesforce, aligned to MEDDICC standards.
  • Provide detailed reporting on pipeline health, forecast accuracy, wins/losses, competitive positioning and market trends.
  • Act as an ambassador for Cision and PR Newswire at client meetings and relevant industry events.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, including data protection, confidentiality, diversity and equal opportunities.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
  • Proven track record of exceeding new business targets in a B2B SaaS or platform-based sales environment.
  • Strong experience in senior-level new business development and complex deal execution.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and practical application of MEDDICC methodology.
  • Experience selling consultative, high-value solutions to mid-market or enterprise organisations.
  • Ability to engage, influence and negotiate with C-suite and senior decision-makers.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Expertise in prospecting, qualification and pipeline management.
  • Experience or strong domain knowledge within PR, communications, marketing or media.
  • In-depth understanding of the Spanish Mediterranean business landscape.
  • Highly organised, self-directed and resilient, with excellent time-management skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a high-performance, target-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to CRM discipline.
  • Willingness to travel within the market on a quarterly basis.
