We are looking for enthusiastic and driven individuals who are looking to build or maintain a lasting career in the IT industry. Cisilion will be working with you to set clear goals and expectations with regards to soft and technical skills, training and accreditations to take you through support roles and further within our Client Services department.

The Associate Network Engineer role is a 3rd Line support role whose primary responsibility is to manage and resolve Client Incidents, Problems, Changes and Requests across various Managed Service estates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with network troubleshooting and support incident resolution across managed service client environments, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Support the investigation of recurring incidents and contribute to service improvement activities to enhance network reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with Observability engineering to identify trends in specific devices, stacks, and environments.
  • Perform technical triage and assist with resolution and/or vendor escalation across LAN and WAN technologies (SD-WAN) and Wireless Networks.
  • Work with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to help resolve persistent or high-impact network issues.
  • Work closely with 3rd parties/vendors to support shared Incidents impacting Managed Services Clients, as well as RMAs and standard changes.
  • Support planned network changes by following approved processes and best practices to minimise client disruption.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, process improvement initiatives, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Develop an understanding of network automation approaches and contribute to automation activities where appropriate.
  • Document knowledge articles, network diagrams and other technical artefacts when required.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in a high pace technical support environment, or relevant apprenticeship, placement, internship, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Foundational experience supporting Network and Wireless infrastructure, with exposure to technologies such as Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, Palo Alto and Azure Networks.
  • Basic understanding of network security concepts including Firewalls, VPN, NAC, and IPS/IDS.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols such as TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, DHCP, DNS and NAT.
  • Certified to CCNA level (route/switch), Fortinet FCA/FCP, and/or Azure AZ-700 (or similar).
  • An interest in automation, AI orchestration and scripting is desirable (for example Python, Power Automate, n8n, or Cisco DevNet).
